if it is galvanised don't use some of the newer green.prob alloy so not a prob but any green treated 1/2 0r 5/8 will do the job.I have a bud who tried to use some plastic 3/4 4x4 gray sheets Menard's was selling last year worked great for about 3 mo then started warping like crazy and got worse with heat

Its an aluminum 12ft floe trailer only really need to do the piece up the middle the traction mat and ski glides on that piece held moisture and rotted it out in a couple spots

I think a Type of Marine plywood is typically decking for trailers.
I believe it is better than just green treated.
Might want to do some research..

i was thinking of painting the deck with some type of bed liner paint. i don't know if that's possible with wood but it sounded like a good idea to me for protecting the wood

marine ply is crazzzy costly I don't think the trailer builders are using marine.there are diff grades of green I would look to direct contact it is made to be burred for things like wood frame basements about 1/2 the cost of marine.

I have a triton trailer with a bearcat cover.I painted my deck with oil based porch paint and added some silica sand to it for traction. I also sprayed the entire underside with rubberized undercoating. It has easy-on slides and traction mats. That was 11 years ago and the trailer still looks very good. No rotten wood. Granted it is covered but has several miles on it and it is always stored outside. I am picking up a new triton (longer) trailer this week and I will do the exact same thing to it.

in the new snow goer that came today, under the 101 tips to make snowmobiling easier, it said to put truck bed liner on your trailer

O.k., so this is off subject, but every dang time I look at the title of this thread, I see "Rednecking a trailer...". I don't know why my mind puts that "n" in there. Must be Indy's thread on his redneck enclosed trailer.....

I just laugh to myself every time I do it. Getting old I guess....

Funny, I see the same thing every time. Maybe it has something to do with indy500's trailer thread!

I just did a double take on the title too. Need to go find my reading glasses. For a minute I thought the lastest craze was rednecking your trailer.

havn't done a thing yet hoping to get to it this weekend. Gonna see what the local lumber yard has for sale then decide what to get i guess.
For sure going to put spray on bed liner over it when done my neighbor does it and owes me a favor so it will not cost much to have it done.
