doo has an incredible ride but I'd seriously reconsider the 600 over the 800. Seriously, ask around because the 800e has real issues, kinda like the poo 800 of 9-11
some 800's will get a few miles but in general they wont make it to 4000
We have had numerous over 4000 miles. Zero that havent made 4000 miles. Do the math.
Just dropped mine off for the update at 4300 trouble free miles. My dads had 7000 trouble free before he sold it.
Lenny where do you get all these facts of 800E with issues....dont say the internet lololololol.
Sure some have issues, as with how many are out there and the way people treat them sometimes is the root cause, but our group has a pretty large sample size without issue, so I would stongly disagree.
Plus a 13 or 14 will still be under waranty.
I am looking for a deal on a new or slightly used 2013-2014 backcountry 800. Anyone know of any dealers that have a deal on a left over ? When does Doo usually run there best deals ?
The 2010.5's-2011's and EARLY 2012 models have recall, later build 2012's are already updated. Not 2013's nor 14's.
There's a difference between burned down and replacing piston updates. One of the largest ski-doo dealers in the midwest i was at on monday dropped of my 800E for the update. Not piling up there? Sure they had some others getting the updates so i duno, just dont see it nor hear of actual Burn downs.......and like ive said we have a lot in the group and know of many many more....I mean how you make these recommendations while you own a poo 800...i duno makes no sense to me. Maybe practice what you preach?
hold on,,they want the pistons replaced for a reason and that reason is because there is something wrong with them and to have them doing 8k rpm's isn't going to help maters. The point is to get the new pistons in before you do have a problem. If you got new pistons than your good to go. You ought to be able to run 10k with update complete. If you do not update you run serious risk of failure and no one want's that,,right?
You seem to take offense because your brand is Doo and I understand that but I'm sorry your brand is blowing up, I didn't build it! Your machines in your group are newer but all not people own the 13-14's. Some are out there buying used 10.5-11-12 and don't know and this may help them to learn, simple as that.
The reason why I am more aware of the situation is because I live where there are thousands of sledders and I talk to people. I don't just repeat crap off the net. My buddy Dave has 2 600e, one in a gade and the other a summit both awesome sleds and one close to 8000 miles. I am not bashing doo so please don't take it as that. Wouldn't you rather inform people of potential problem so they can avoid them instead if them getting messed up.
Thats the first time you have mentioned if they have the update they are Ok. Previously all you have said is 800E are POS's period. Anyone who buys an 800 that doesnt have the update done they are still covered thru this year, so whats the big deal. I could go buy a 2011 800E tomorrow with no update and 3k miles and blow it up and its free. So their's not much risk. Like I said My 800 Wasnt updated and I drag raced that sucker hundreds and hundreds of times and rode it 4300 trouble free miles. I'm not repeating crap off the net , if that was the case they'd all be crap, see i have hands on expierence with the sled and many more i ride with. Not just word of mouth. They are faster before the updates so if you like to win drag races running old pistons as long is possible is only a benefit.
You have brand loyalty issues...
Sorry 800 etecs are still going down lot better track record than the poo but they still have problems.
I mentioned the same thing in my second post, post # 4.Thats the first time you have mentioned if they have the update they are Ok. Previously all you have said is 800E are POS's period.
