Nice! The numbers i have seen from stock short track etecs(clutched ) is 115-119mph on GPS. While i have never personally done a top speed run on my 15, i doubt it would do that much as its a gade and geared lower than short tracks. I would venture im in the 110-114 area.

Yes the outer bearings are sealed. Its only an issue if the seal fails and causes pre-mature iso flex grease leakage. Otherwise they will go a LONG time without needing grease. I kno of many etecs over 10k miles on orginal iso flex pack. 800s and 600s.

Just like anything you hear on the Internet, it seems more common than reality. I quickly counted the amouny of etecs owned in my group by relatives and close friends. 21. 12 600s and 9 800s. The only thing i have seen go bad was one water pump on a 600. Otherwise none of the engines have been apart. You'd think with this being a KNOWN problem, surely we would have blown 1 up?

I asked my dealer last year how many etec he seen that actually blew up, not prevenative recall rebuild. Off the top of his head he remembered 180. He sold 225 ski-doos this year.

That's not bad,,getting better,,,,,,now you gotta admit that's funny!

You obviously know little about the etec. they actually use a lot of oil depending on the RPM, just as much or more than any sled out their when running over 5k RPMS. they just use oil very efficiently at idle, unlike the other SEMI-direct injected fuel systems that keep pooring in oil like the cats. The r-motion is the standard for rear suspensions until proven otherwise. The only one close is the AXYS. RAS 2..bandaid? the orginal RAS was nervous at high speed bumps, that is something 90% wouldnt notice. It fixed that and reduced the inside ski lift and is lighter, how is that a bandaid? Thats legit surgery. This year was the first time i had the fully adjustable suspension and i used it ALL the time. Really works well for drag racing as well, 2 seconds all the way soft for transfer. hit the trail back stiff without ever getting off my sled or getting tools out. Everyone in the group wont go without quick adjust and thats 10+ deep. I guess we are the .1% you mentiion, LMAO. Your so far off but thats ok. The ECU is a management system that doesnt allow morons to burn the engines up. Its why you can hold an etec wide open for miles on end. See there are some people that are morons and hold 2 strokes wide open for LONG periods. and they burn down, and then they come on the internet and say it junk. Well BRP has a fix to that and it had definentaly helped engine life. Something CAT and POO are COPYING. like it or not. Also you reason for break-in mode is also A s s backwards. but thats my opinion. carry on.

so the iso flex bearings are getting oil some how? what ever U and I both know who has the best and only long block program in the industry . as far as u and your boys hopping up and down waving your pom poms for each other tuning your suspension. Why? is it that finicky that u need to adjust every few hrs? I dont know I ride with guys with the quick adjust set up and never see them playing with ther toys just because they can. as far as the best a benchmark as u say is that proven on the sno x track the cross country arena the drag strip the hill climb coarse or just your circle of cheerleaders congratulating each other for owning the best suspension in the industry ?
just a thought if the fully adjustable suspension is a must have for the top sleds for top riders why not put it on your flag ship for the yr? my buds did not get it and why did it need Mohawks after the first weekend to make it handle how he wanted? oh best part it is up for sale he likes his 600r better and is getting a 800rr crazy one would think after riding the dog for a yr one would be hooked for life.
oh I have held all my stockers to the bars for mi and mi why own a trail sled if u cant run down the river wfo if they blow they blow the last one I had go was a 02doo800 hole in the case . IMHO the oem run them to close to the nats *** so they have the break in for 300 mi so most guys are over 1/2 way through there warranty before they can piss pound the toy that was suppose to be built to handle a piss pounding.
your doos are fine toys pretty week chassis week arms and deff cant take a hit but nice sleds all the same . now get back out and practice those cheers

Yea im no saying it doesnt happen. Im saying its rare. You have to understand most people take their sleds to be worked on at the dealer. I think 2 strokes are designed to last 10k miles. Anything more your really on borrowed time. They do make bearing buddies if your worried and you can also grease them yourself or inspect. With the bean counters giving out 4 year bumper to bumper warranties with NO mileage cap, i would say the people who kno best are confident that the percentage of failures will be extremely low.
I do not agree with that statement at all guys take there sleds to dealer when they have warranty after that they fix them self or bring it to smaller shops to have guys who actually know what they are doing as apposed to a fresh from AMI kid making 12 bucks a hr.

So you want to run your "tweeked DOO" against my BONE STK Apex??? Figures....like I said...stk for stk...I'm not that stupid...that I will race a tweeked sled with a bone stk sled....jeeze (did you not see where i wrote stock??)..I am confident what my apex will do (stock on stock)...btw...my buddies 2013 switchback Pro-R (stock)and a 2015 Xys switchback (stock) both beat the 800 etecs (all stock...3 in all) in our informal lake races....(several times)....and I beat both of the Poos...the longer the distance....the bigger the gap.

Typical ski-doo rider....running a tweeked sleds...beating up on stock sleds, and acting like they are king of the lake...LOL......Part of the reason I refuse to buy a ski-doo is the type of rider they attract...like MOMONEY....prime example...I bet he beats up on these stock sleds and posts videos all over youtube...saying how he beat this "FAST" yamaha with his stock ski-doo...lol
How pathetic....LOL

I'm glad I'm not the only one who see's it that way. Momoney takes the liberty to make unreasonable comparisons to make his yellows look faster. It is astonishing to think we even have this level of debate and that my friend is why I continue to call him out but he's a tough egg to crack!

Pah. Yep you guys sound just like other guys that get there sleds drug like they are tied to a tree and then make all sorts of excuses and claim cheating. Been there done that.

Some people know how to clutch/tune some dont. Its a waste of time arguing with you guys. But ill have fun and continue to bust apex and axys as ses for years to come. Maybe i should get a go pro and post videos to keep you guys happy like the munchen guy. LmAO.

Unfortunately you were not able to bring your buddies "tuned" srx to gogebic that day you called me out. Woulda been fun

Yea this is really a waste of breath. You really dont understand the quick adjust sytem. First off race sleds are set virtualy all the way stiff and not touched, they are mashing moguls and jumps, not trail riding thru varying conditions. So yes they do not need this system. comon thats commen sense. The QA for a normal person like myself who ride thru varius conditions and then who also likes to drag race it is amazing, and also who has someone ride on back time to time. Previously without this system, i would usually leave my setting on soft to allow TRANSFER....AKA holeshots and power to ground. And honeslty i would leave it when hitting the trails because i usually didnt feel like getting on the ground and breaking out tools. This allows me to go back and forth in seconds while sitting on the sled, plain and simple. its an awesome feature that we all APPRECIATE.

Your buds iron dog is a sled that DOESNT need this either. That fricker is so stiff, by far the stiffest sled i have ever ridden. For trail riding set that sled all the way soft and be done with it. I am considering buying an XRS as my next sled. Honestly if i do, i dont think ill need it as again the sled is stiff by nature and i would prefer all the way soft. But on the X package sleds it really is a nice feature. its thinking outside the box that keeps moving team yellow forward. Yay!

Unfortunetely once again your breakin idea is just plain WRONG. I was told to vary the throttle for 15 miles and then DO NOT baby it. or else you wont seat the rings. haha. and its not miles that the breakin percentage counts. its the amount of fuel ran thru. mine was done in 220 miles. AKA a day and a half LMAO. I guess thats half my 4 year warranty. PAH. O yea I have hit plenty of stuff down ditch banging in illinois. yep bent a arms but thats about it. And holding your sled wide open for more than 1/2 miles is stupid. you get what got coming. and people look around after it blows and say..WHAT? ETEC go for it, old carbed sleds its dumb. better have your jetting way rich if you wana be a dum dum

Wow. you really dont understand either

Changing clutching and gearing is stock in any other world but your excuse filled little niche!!!

These are all interchangable components that allows people to "tune" a sled or clutch to "their" liking. SOMETHING I WELCOME YOU TO DO!!!!

The power output is IDENTICAL. NO power added!!!! LOL

These arent clutch "kits". these are all ski-doo factory components, QRS cams, ramps and spring changes. Ive raced apex's with these 'kits'. still not enough!

I have never posted a video or taken one of any race, but i was ready too for snoman.

Please dont buy ski-doo, you wont ever fully appreciate what its capable of. yamaha builds a perfect sled for you

I understand perfectly well....I have had many sleds clutched (name the company..I probably tried their kit)..., and also used oem parts to improve performance.....I don't buy a machine to sit on a lake all day anymore...I want to trail ride...there is a reason yamaha belts last for 4,000- 5000 miles...I am leaving this apex alone...no reason to re-clutch it....it's smooth, fast and doesn't eat belts .
And you are too late in telling me not to buy ski-doo....I have owned 4 since 1996...the biggest POS lemon I have ever owned was a 99 670 HO (stator and electronic issues.)..started having issues at 500 miles, and bombi basically told me to take a flying leap (worst warranty in the business = ski-doo)..I then bought an 02 MXZX 700...it was ok...just slow for a 700..I also had an 03 MXZX REV 600 HO...it took out a piston and cylinder at 850 miles(dealer covered this, but I lost 3 weeks of riding)....the only decent ski-doo I owned was my 96 mxz 583..I rode that for 4 seasons (back in the mid to late 90s)

One of my favorite machines I owned was a 2007 Crossfire 600....it smoked, vibrated, and drank gas and oil like no other machine I have owned..BUT...that sled went anywhere I pointed it, and it never left me stranded...it also rode and handled well...it's why I bought the F-1000 I had (the previous 2 seasons)...that crossfire never let me down...I beat the snot out of that sled...I sold it with 11,500 miles on it.

There are many folks like me who just want to ride without the hassle...and I know if I have a problem.. Yamaha and my dealer...Pat's.. will take care of me...No worry's at all...I can't say that about ski-doo...I feel we have one of the best doo dealers in the upper midwest (Tomahawk Sports Center)...Yet I still don't feel confident buying yellow...and probably never will.. unless Yamaha and Cat both go out of business.

Ive never blown a belt in my life believe it or not. I dont sit on lakes and race all day. I love to ride as much as the next guy. Over 2k miles this year, thats a lot of back and forth on the lake LMAO. Ps my buds 800etec has 4400 miles with clutching tweaks. Orginal belt and it measured impressively close to new. ;)

momoney, how do I not get it? If we take two sleds out of the box and race them we have a winner,,,Yamaha!!!!!! You said it yourself,,,9 times out of 10, your words not mine!

You always wave the poms for all your magazine articles claiming this and that for stock sleds. Always the Doo is the best and now you say Apex will beat the doo 800e in stock form. So you "tune" your doo and beat everybody, maybe a well tuned Apex will continue to beat doo? Are you savoy with Yamaha tuning and know it's limitations? How many "tuned" apex's have you run,,,oh wait,,,you probably raced so many it understood Apex cannot win. When we read articles we read factory specs and that is a base line for starters. Apex will smoke the 800etek, it's okay that you have a slower factory sled,,,,not the end of the world. It's good you tuned your to win, I like that!

Have you ever wondered why your alone on this stuff, us against you. Understanding your denial is the start to recovery, stick with me kid, I'll learn ya!

I can see why he fights so hard about his Doo being so fast in a drag race, he can only pin it for a 1/2 mile or less without it blowing. 660 ft. is well inside of that distance. Meanwhile I'll enjoy pinning my dinosaur RX1 for as long and far as I want. I wonder how I've ridden that thing for 11yrs. :)

Doo has some very nice sleds and awesome ride quality. I nor anyone else here denies that. What we do object to is people saying theirs is the best,,,,,it's even in the rules by JD that we ought not do that. Despite the rule, many of us try an counter the imbalance but to no avail.

how many miles on your RX1? Nice sled by the way and it's awesome you still like it and ride it. Any major problems?

Thanks, it's only got 8000 on it. I have to admit though it isn't stock. I have basically turned it into a carbed 07 RTX. I did use all Yamaha parts though. :) No, I haven't had any issues with it. Stock clutching and stock engine. I still like enough that I can't justify spending money on a new sled although if I did it would most likely be an Apex and this year with building a new shop, trying to get a business going and my riding buddies or sick hurt I never made a trip. First time I have missed a year completely but it will pay off I hope.

did look in to the 800 etec cut away yesterday yep same chit 2 isoflex in each side of the crank . the concept of the adjustable carbide is sound just not sure how long the plastic is going to hold it stiff in its slot .carbides are not much more than a set of high end carbides but guy did not know price of replacement ski.

nothing until u stop to think if riding up a hill at 8000rpm . the motor is under heavy load with high heat and spinning around 133times a second. all on what 1/2 a pump of a grease from a average gun? that is suppose to last more than a few yrs .
ok so say u ride hard and spend a lot of time around 7000 rpm in 3000mi the life expectancy of a doo that is around 25200000 extremely high speed 130ish a second revolutions on 1 dab of grease .now your average used sled on the block is sporting what 120 hrs now we are closer to 1512000000 turns on a dab of grease. oh yeah just let her buck I am sure she is good for a few more yrs
the #1 reason they have a extremely popular long block program . I wish they all had such a ez relatively cheep program. or at least a sbt type place for sleds
