Didn't really pay much attention to Prince (was following Jerry and the boys in my VW bus 70's/80's early 90's)....... seeing all the Prince news as of late, Price was a very talented guy in his own right.....
I also hit many many shows in the mid 80s early 90s in a 76 doge tradesman 3 on the tree with a 318. always chuckled at u boys doing 20mph up the mountain passes.
also a bit more incognito in a dodge . those 80s were tough on a lot of guys with the fed 3 strikes deal did not need any more reason to get pulled over than necessary.
He was a very cool guy. Funny how the media (perhaps the record label) presented him in one way, but that was not the real him.
Just watched a great interview with him and Larry King. Worth watching if you have a spare 38 minutes to burn.

This is cool, not the polished video productions we see today but that's part of what makes it cool.
I've seen the "Purple Rain" segment (all 13 minutes or so) released as a separate video, which in my opinion, was the best version ever recorded, and this was in 1983. The guy was crazy good on the guitar, not to mention all the other instruments he played.
You Mnsotans loved randy Moss too so yur opinion is somewhat suspect at best.
I never quite understood Prince's popularity. I was pretty underwhelmed.
I did wonder where he got his costumes, were they hand-me-downs from (click →) Liberace? The only thing missing was the candelabra.
prince was hetro -you don't know anything-your [sic] disrespectful -stop typing
