Scandalous Ticket from Wisc. DNR

I really was gonna stop if I ever saw the dnr or cops. Now I think I might just go for it. Just one more ticket anyway. Why stop if it's just about the money!! Catch me!! I do stop at all stop signs and try and follow all rules for safety. I will not be stopping though.

arent you the one with the freind that got punched at the bar?

Note to Self.

Steer clear of vacations involving recreational sports in the Wisconsin area!

There, that's done.

Not sure how Wisconsin does it but Michigan won't tell you what the fine is when you get busted, even for a trail sticker violation. They want you to call and they tell you over the phone. What kind of hokie game is that? I want something in black and white so nobody can come back later and tell me I didn't pay enough. Why can't they just write the amount on the ticket?

Another good one, Last year I got a $230 ticket from county sheriff (Rusk Co., WI) for not having my trail sticker on my sled. The part that kills me is that I pulled it out pocket and told him I would put it on right now, he still wrote it.

We showed him all the regs, etc...and then the guy that was marking trail happen to show up as well. He explained to the DNR that he directed us this way and that he was part of a club and due to some people going off trail the other way, the restaurant owner wanted folks to go this way.

My dad proceeded to fight the ticket, had a ton of pics of the area, had the guy marking trail as a witness, had restaurant owner as witness and the judge still made us pay.

Really?? The judge still made you pay?

Even after you explained that the restaurant owner and the snowmobile club trail marking guy said it was ok?

That is surprising....

I would call the local club for that area and see what they say.......ask them if they have had any problems, or if they got approval from the DNR our county to have the trail there.

Can't hurt you to call or email

I guess from now on I will have to travel about 2mph or walk ahead of the group after dark and have my tape measure in hand to check the 40 foot rule. Sorry guys this is insane, if you are from out of the area there is no way to tell 39 feet from 40. I feel your pain!!!

98panther,you don't live here, you have no idea.with all the libs and dems using tax dollars to buy student votes and also the "dumbing down of our children in public screwel", we just can't win.and for you to think otherwise you must be one of them.

and on another note, the dnr have way to much power, unlike cops, they do not need a warrent to come into your house and look around.all they need is resonable suspicion.that can be good sometimes but when has power not been abused

If you choose to fight it your first appointment will be with the District Attorney. They may reduce the fine if your lucky. I see your from IL so its probably easier to just pay the fine and be done with it. In my short life I've found the law has a tendency to pick on the younger generation. If your 50 in that situation you probably get a warning, at 24 you get a ticket. Just the way it is...

This has crossed my mind, but at the same time I dont want them to get away with screwing out of towners for a b.s. ticket. I know its not the town or areas or Wisconsins fault its the wardens out there that get on a power trip. So we shall see.
