Sea and Snow oil users

I need your honest opinion.
I am thinking of trying it but before I do I have to say I like the low odor the Polaris gold oil that I have been using since new.
I ride mostly with 4 strokers who be hatin how bad some of the other brands of oil smell. I have to agree with them!
I have gotten behind sleds of all makes and years on the trail and I know a mile before I see them that they are up ahead.
Being a "mineral" oil do it stink real bad er not?

I ask because the older ski doos stunk bad and made my eyes water before the headache set in an i believe doo oil is mineral oil also.

I use to run Amsoil and it made my eyes watered and noses burned. Then I switch to 2 Cycle Extreme and the eyes and nose were much better. Now I ride 4s' and make the 2smokers ride behind me. I cannot tell you about Sea and Snow because I never used it. When I rode 2smokers, I dialed the oil back to 60:1 or 80:1. Never burned down an engine.

Air smells fresh out in front... ;)

I was riding a trail while a relic ride was going on in the area. I just love the smell of the 2 smokers.
Not sure which flavor is better or worse.

I've run S&S mineral in several sleds including the current family 98 Poo 500. Friends run the same oil in their late 2000's vintage Cats. I can say from experience following them that unless you are running your oil injection system on the heavy side, you will hardly smell the sled at all. Sure, it smokes on a cold start but all 2S sleds do this. I know when a sled goes by that's running Doo or Klotz oils.

I run S&S for yrs and IMHO it smells ok not as good as the old strawberry IPON or klotz and c116. I cant stand the smell of amsoil or doo.

Have any of you S&S/Mystik users had a break-down as a result of oil? I know the haters will hate but I'm wondering if anyone has had any issues.

I have had 0 issues with using S&S and my valves are always cleaner and more ez to clean than when I was using amsoil.
have been using for yrs and most guys I run with have switched over including a guy who sold amsoil for around 10 yrs

Just a few thousand on S&S and no problems. I have never known anyone who lost a motor with a brand of oil issue . I do know a few that have blamed their own stupidity on bad gas or oil brand.

Swithed from Polaris Gold to the S&S mineral. No problems and no different smell. I really can't tell the difference in oil burn smells. Only race gas "odor".

More questions: Sea & snow is now Mystic, is that correct? And for the guys that run the semi-synthetic, do you have any issues with power valves getting dirty any earlier?

Yamaha - I clean them every year regardless of miles. Maybe a little more carbon but good maintenance goes a long way.
2000 yamaha srx 700 - 13,000 miles and counting. New rings at 7000. - Sea and Snow its entire life.

Ran Sea and Snow/Mystik/Lucas for many miles in several different sleds without a problem. Bought a early 2000 Ski Doo that had been using Amsoil and before I could get it low enough to switch brands, crank seized up. However, I would never say it was from using Amsoil.
Side note: 2001 Ski Doo MXZ 700 12,800 miles running BRP mineral oil and Sea and Snow/Mystik. No motor work needed.

I've been running sea and snow and then Mystik for about 7 years. Currently run the Mystik synthetic JT4 in my 2014 Pro RMK. No issues ever related to oil. My group uses it in 2013 Pro 800 RMK, 2012 Pro 800 RMK, 2009 Summit, 2005 ZR900, 2007 M8, and have run it in all sleds in the past. Nobody has had any oil related issues. Sleds are properly fogged and summerized each year.

So when I'm out of amsoil and polaris gold I think I'm going to switch to the super cheap sea and snow.

What is the best price you've found on it? Cabelas has some of their brand marine 2 stroke oil for $13 per gallon. I thought about buying some of that.

I ran the S & S in my '05 600 SDI from the time I got it with 1200 miles until I sold it with 9000 miles. The sled ran flawlessly the whole time and the new owner couldn't be happier. I cleaned the power valves every other year and the carbon was minimal. It's good oil and priced where all the OEM's should be.

Now I went with the 900 ACE and it's the same deal buying the Doo 4 stroke oil. $48/gal (for the first oil change) but that's not happening again. It's going to live on Mobil 1 the rest of it's life.
