Maybe that was the problem! :D

nah :)

belt - $30 shadetree special
carbides - $30 shadetree special
slides - $20
driveshaft bearing - $15
voltage regulator - $60
few bogey bearings - $10

That is ALL i spent on that thing i'm not including the accessories because I kept them all and am using them on my 700. It was fogged once (before the last season i had it) but i only kept it 2.5 winters (2 springs/falls)

I would use Sea & Snow in your new 2010 E-tek. This will no doubt help the sled run cleaner, keep the valves shiney, get you better mileage, reduce oil usage and probably extend cylinder and ring life almost guaranteeing no chance of blowing the thing up. I'm sure if you read your manual it says Sea & Snow is preferable to that $40 a gallon BRP synthetic they sell at the Ski-Doo dealer. The only thing S&S won't do is cure the cancer you might get from sniffing 2-stroke fumes. And not only that, you will save $30 bucks a gallon on your 10 thousand dollar sled. Go for it - highly intelligent decision.

How bout them Bears!

The continuing saga. Lol. The tech section on this site has many amateur oil engineers. You may want to seek info on what to really use in an Etek motor, after all they sip the oil so go with what the engine builder says. The sled cost way to much to mess around with oils.

the ? I have is who buys a 10 to 15G sled and not negotiate at lest 1/2 off 3 or 4 cases of oil at the time.most dealers have allot more room to negotiate on parts gear oil & accessories than the sled.

Thanks for all the input!

There is obviously a lot of passion about oils.

It was more of a question based on having 3 sleds and trying to consolidate on oil types. But as stated the etec uses very little oil so I will continue to use Ski-Doo Blend in that. As for the other 2 sleds I will probably go to The S & S oil.
