Man I hate to hear this! You have to wonder what makes these people tick? Karma will even things out.

I had to pay at the pump or inside first at Clam Lake yesterday on our way home from the UP. I understood completely and had no problem with it at all, especially after reading this thread on my phone. It's too bad though.

I tend to think people make honest mistakes but I know that is not always the case. Quite often when we gas up we fill up on one pump 4 or 5 guys then one guy goes in and payes on CC then we all pay cash to that guy
So I could see how it could happend. Now with that being I would go back and pay or atleast call with a CC number.
Do you really want to feel as though you can't shop someplace becasuse they may know it was you that decied to take off with $30 in gas you didnt't pay for

Get some good surveillance cameras and post signs saying you are being recorded.
Or... Have a gas surcharge and have full service. 2$ per sled for convenience fee. This $ could be used to pay that employee manning the pump.

Plenty of jags in the world. Have to protect your self nowadays.

Yep, bump up gas price a couple pennies to cover attendant cost.

Wal Mart and other retailers invest huge sums of money in their security systems to stop/prevent theft. Guess who ultimately pays for this cost? Yes, us the consumer. The few lug heads always ruin it for the good guys.

Kipster, I have an idea. I'll stand out there all day sat and sun with my money bag collecting,,,, for a hrly rate and I can only use my earnings towards a pro rental when my buds come up,,am I a genious or what , or do you spell it jenious, genus,,,,I give up,

Long story short, I put my trail pass on top of old stickers on a cold night. It fell off and I lost it. I had the receipt and paperwork from the gas station I bought it at. I stopped at the DNR station in Escanaba, and the nice lady at the desk called Headquarters and they approved a refund by check if I just bought another one. I got my refund check in the mail today. They could have easily called B.S., and I would have understood if they couldn't give me a refund, but they did, and all I can say is thank you, Michigan DNR.​

You are completely in your right to vent, it's a total crock of sh-t that people do that. Gas is incredibly cheap right now, what the **** are these people doing?
