Just want to know if i just put the skiguides and mat in the center or does there have to be more info on my side...its a triton dr/on dr/off ,,12ft,101..enclosed W/a topcap fiberglass to keep things clean...meathead : :

If you want to put them down the middle only to save money, you could always find a truck bedliner. I decided to look for one, one night on craigslist and found one posted for free 10 minutes away. Cut it up, screw er down, and your good to go!

indy thanks for the thought but not sure of what you mean? Have an 05 sabrecat efi(if that matters ) and dont want to misalign the ski guides (Caliper from BK boats) thanks again meathead:O

Truck bedliners have grooves in them. If you cut up strips of them about 6" wide and however long you need, it's basically the same as ski guides. One with groves like this picture below

If you use the truck bedliner like Indy shows, be careful especially if you have a Yamaha 4-stroke with stock skis.

I had an Apex and had ski guides that were very similar in design-deep grooves, and due to the keel design on the Yamaha ski, the skis would actually get wedged into the grooves when loading the sled on the trailer, would get about half way up and need to drag it back down-couldn't use reverse as it would just spin.

Replaced those ski guides with EZ Off trailer slides and no problems since.

Check out Fleet Farm, they have low profile guides. For the mat, go to the farm section and buy a cow mat and cut it in half and screw them down. They have different thicknesses. My mat has lasted 11 years and shows no wear.

Not so much the carbide scratches, but for those running studs, the trailer deck can get damaged quickly.

And, with the ski guides, sleds go on and off the trailer very easily.

for me, I put them on so my sled goes STRAIGHT up. Trying to fit 2 sleds side by side in a 8.5 ft. wide trailer isn't easy.

On my 2 plc , I bought the ski guides and then cut up a bedliner horizontally for the track & stud area. The best thing I did was weld some " d-shape " brackets and bolt them to the front & back of the trailer ( frame ) perimeter. It allows me to pull anything on the trailer and have some anchor points for rachet straps to secure with. Trailer is " on loan " or I would post up some pics.
