looking for sled for my teen age daughter and son. was wondering what would be a good riding & handling sled. would like to stick with polaris or skidoo. i'm tring to go with edge if i can. but would like to hear from you guys for some help. just in case i miss some thing that i did not think of. thanks

Go to the Polaris ads on this site and look at the 2002 Polaris 600 XCSP that Kip has for sale at Pat's Yamaha. That sled could bring $2,500 at the right time, and he has it down to $1,700. A steal IMO.

Just need to throw in a Cat idea eventhough you said you wanted to stick with a POS .... Thats Polaris or Skidoo, not what you all thought at first 
Think about a ZL. Or even a Jag. They are lightweight, carb or efi, can get one from a 340 up through a 800 so you can find almost anything you want, and I've regularly seen the Jags starting under $1,000 ($700 with a lot of miles) and you should be able to find a good ZL for $1,500-$1,800.
My kids both started on Jags and my 17 year old still thinks the ZL 500 efi is great.

my wife let me spend 1500-2000.she will ride it once in awhile not saying i also.so i really want to find edge.thinking 550 or 500 really don't need power valve 500. but if i could find one i be ok with that. i told my wife if i could 25=2700 i could find classic with m10. but 2000 is my cap. i'm just happy she is letting family to get a 3rd sled

Yamaha are some of the best two strokes ever made the six and seven hundred triples are very long lasting I have seen these with 20000 miles on them. Polaris edges are very good better suspension engine not as good as yamaha.
I would 2nd the yammi triple they suck as far as suspension but will run 10k and still not need a top end
I am a cat guy and have found a few old yammis 3c for guys looking to get in to a cheep reliable sled.
now u want good handling and ride well cat has been running independent suspension for a solid 15 yrs longer than doo or poo.
but if I had to pick a doo or poo for a kid under 2k I would have to go 500 edge over any 2k doo
