Ariens engines

Ariens for a really long time used Tecumseh engines, They went out of business about a year ago. Last year Ariens was in a jam because they could not get enough B&S engines. So I think Subaru is thier Plan C. I also think and I am not sure that B&S bailed from Milwaukee for Mexico. It would be great if we could still find all American products, but that is just really tough today. Bottom line is the gentleman asked just for advice on a snowthrower, and most as I replied Ariens. I don't call mine a snowblower. I call it my, "Snow Get The H_ll Out My Driveway". It's cool when it's dry and windy after a storm. Set the chute up and let the wind take to the neighbors.

If you have a wife get one with electric start and show her how to run it. My wife will blow snow only if she really needs too. Which happens to be when I am gone ice fishing.

I never said anything about buying a union made snow thrower. If it was that's great. I just want value for my dollar. Not crap low price but value. Oh and it will have the finest of oil and gas run in it. It is nice to know this unit is considered American made such as my Searay, chevrolet, Polaris, Harley, wheel horse, cushman golf cart, Buick, and Dodge truck. Now are we talking south, central or north america? I just want a good snowthrower that chucks all my snow over to my neighbors driveway, why because that's what men do.

I will say If yours runs anything like my Ariens you will be very happy for lots of years. !!

Indy worked on his 25 year old estate 8 hp snow blower today, started on 1 pull my dad bought it used 20 years ago for $200, never stuck a dime into it other than a new spark plug every year, changed the oil every year, and new tires last year.

Bought my True Value snow shovel 25 yrs. Ago $6.95 (maybe spent to much) but I only put back into it during that time. This new Ariens. $799 should last 25 yrs. In todays dollars it looks like a great deal.

the shovel on my snow plow probably cost $6.95 25 years ago :) it's on its 3rd paint coat, and it looks terrible, if the plow works good which i doubt it will since i dont think my dad is going to let me use it, i'll go ahead and paint it up.
