Snowmobilers Stand Divided???

Why is it everytime I get on a forum I see contraversy? Not between different groups with different interests but between what is suppose to be a proud group of sled heads! If or lets say when groups against us take a peak at these posts and forums they must get a kick out of how we are pulling ourselves apart! It seems like every other post is an argument or battle to better the ego of self worth or skill.

How about a group that stands united, is quick to commend someone for trying no matter how they do, say congratulations to someone who gets a new to them sled no matter how old or clapped out it is (still a lot of people with out a sled at all) and offer a helping hand with out a what can you do for me attitude! Forget about words like poser and understand 5' in the air is as big for some as 45' in the air. We all started somewhere and we will all slow down at some point...

So what gives with the battle within???

Dito. Why cant we all just be friends. We all like to ride our sleds, some fast some not. But we all like when the big snow guns get togather and make a winter wonderland.

This is a Discussion board. What would we talk about and /or discuss if we didn't have different views, takes, experiences or knowledge of a subject we all love. Are you saying that the site rules need to be stricter? No way will you ever get the 13,000 plus in here to all drink the Kool Aid.

I'd like to buy the world a home and furnish it with love,
Grow apple trees and honey bees, and snow white turtle doves.
I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony,
I'd like to buy the world a Coke and keep it company.

I think it's about trying to look and sound impressive. Many of these people struggle to be successful in relationships and when they get behind the PC all chains are off. Immaturity and common decency is a slipping quality in society today. I could go on and on but I will not.

Glad to see you noticed this Greg. I find myself less interested in surfing through these forums because it seems like bull**** so often these days. I was impressed to see JD call out some people last week and set them straight. We need more of that!!!!

Thanks JD!

Your missing the point. It's the bull**** pi**ing matches and name calling power struggles. It's pointless, rude and disrespectful. I believe that's what Coodsend is refering to.

Take one look at the demographics of the “typical” snowmobiler and I think you may find some sort of correlation.

Not my point at all. I am not all about regulations! I believe in education to prevent regulation! All I am saying is that we need to look at how we treat our fellow sledders! Different views and opinions are great that is how we learn and it keeps the world going round and round! It is however the ignorrant rambles of many on the snowmobile forums, in the parking lot, around a bar stool (after the ride) or in the dealership that has to make outsiders very unimpressed with us as a whole group!!!

Next time we are up against a trail closure due to a group of organized environmentalists, take a quick scan through a sled forum and pretend to be an outsider!!! What do you see? United or Divided???

I am not saying all, Just too many is all...

I just wish I could come up with a wicked cool team name, and then post video of myself falling off my snowmobile and running over countless saplings. I sure the greenies wouldn't want that as ammunition.

What Happened last week ? I must admit this year more than any previous year I have been forum jumping to what I like to read " tech " topics . I was in dismay with the entire multiple user name , multiple IP address thing ( what ever that is ) and jokers argueing with themselves. ???? I felt like what the h*** is going on . Who did JD call out and set straight ? Was it that " gas thread " that I missed ?

Respectfully
Please Advise ( I don't understand all the BS P$$$$$$ matches, few places can you go ( IMO ) that you will be with a bunch of individuals that have the same interest in common !
A lack of humility is what some folks suffer from !

Maybe that was a little harsh. My point was to touch on cooksends comment about outsiders looking in. The endless videos of people mowing down trees can not be good for the sport. We are all guilty of it from time to time, but we don't need to advertise it. I guess I could have said that a better way but it was late and I was tired and grumpy. My apologies.

You said it lenny, the reading of these threads aren't what they used to be about.
