I personnally stopped riding with ameteur drinkers years ago,.... if you can't show me that you are in a continual training mode, you're out! I maintain strict zero tolerence for the zero tolerent I have to put up with on sled boards and life in general.
I find them everywhere, ...no borders can contain there self-righteous preaching.
BUT, in an effort to educate them, by leading by example, I will never attempt to explain to them that they need to start living there lives in the fashion I have chosen.
Have a great day, stop wringing your hands and enjoy the trails.....nobody is as perfect as you!

The 1st picture lower right without a shirt is my brother and one of his sons upper right is his wife and other son the rest is our family, the 2nd picture is his snowmobile and the 3rd picture is the place I watched him die. Yes speed and alcohol was the cause of the accident. Man I have been there, I made the calls and lived the nightmare, and it’s not always the other guy. Ride sober, be the leader.

Too bad these guys don't have a clue! Sorry for your loss. If even one person might get it on this site, let's hope.
Once again, I will leave this thread go, I can only give the effort-not the outcome.
Preach as I might to the choir, at least they're in the church..

You may not like the fact that I take the other side of the discussion of drinking while sledding, but sticking up for my slowly eroding freedoms is what I do.
I believe in an individuals right to determine what his or her capacity is in everything they do, NOT just drinking. Sheeplike group think scares me because it shows the ease with which ppl can be manipulated when you play to there self-righteous ID.
In other words,... mob-mentality shouting "BAN THIS AND BAN THAT!"
If you want to ban alcohol when operating ,I say ban it all together.
Waiting until the end of the day to pound down 1/2 dozen cocktails in an hour or two vs. having 4 to 6 drinks, and food over the course of a 10 hour riding day is much worse IMO.

You might say you don't have a problem with ppl who space there drinks out over the day, but if and when things get legislated into law they are normally sweeping, broad brush rulings that don't seperate responsible consumption vs. irresponsible.

I would say its ok to argue the other side of the story, But why would you make a stupid not funny brand bashing joke to a guy who posts pics of his familys tragedy! I dont think it gets anymore classless than that.

But you're OK with him posting the greiving family members, sled and site of the crash????
IMO that was a bit over the top,..... when responding to someone like me who is simply taking the "other" side......wasn't it?

Why wouldnt I be ok with it? He is telling his story which is quite revelant to the conversation!! You chose to make a joke out of his families tragedy? Do you not see the difference? Really? Why would you do that? Did you run out of any intelligent points to make that you decided to just make fun of the story? Im mean seriously? Did you just jump in this thread on page 5. I would love to see how you would handle someone making a joke out of the loss of one of your family members. The fact that you still dont get it is really scary! And im not talking about whether drinking and riding is ok or not. Im talkin about respecting people, making an intelligent agurement without sounding ignorant and offending people.

His response with the pics was designed solely to shut down any opposing veiws to the topic of the thread.....kinda like pullin the race card out....it was his choice to post such a personal thing on here, and because I didn't fane concern like some might, you are upset with my post. My response was an effort to point out that while banning things, like alcohol, might not be a big deal to YOUR personnal life, ...but saying something equally ridiculous like banning certain sleds because THEY are the problem, and would solve the fatality rate, is. After all,....maybe that XLT WASN'T set up properly for the conditions on that lake, is it crazy to say that a few more good studs or sharp carbides, brighter headlights, or stronger brakes were not a contributing factor in this tragedy???
Blaming it on the alcohol is the easy, simple answer....BTW was there anything else in his system at the time of the accident or weren't those test administered once alcohol was detected???
Spose I'll get deleted for expressing my veiws, but I am only commenting on another post that came before this one.....sorry for thinkin outside the group think box. and God rest your brothers soul.

i do have a rule of one drink per wheel or ski then at least a couple hours between stops minimum.but on the other hand there is a thing called legal bac of .08. if so many have the opinion of zero tolerance then go to your local club and have them stop asking bars to sponser them and then tell you to don't forget to patronize our sponsers.get sponsers like mullens dairy bar in watertown, the local fire dept, i would say the local police dept but the dumb ones already do that.route trails sothey do not go past those institutions.rock county in southern wisconsin,i was in that county all day and did not see one bar.there are ways to push an agenda so people just have no choice, just watch fox news, they report the real story
