All done with the dangerous high ladder work. Thank you Lord for keeping me safe! This was a crazy build, I have the west side left which is a piece of cake compared to what I just finished. I not going to do that again but I will say that at 67 I’m probably in the best shape of my aging life. Done with high ladder work, we’ll see what life brings me next, we have the house to remodel next. Priorities, garage came first, I have a very understanding wife. I’m going golfing next week!

Interested to see the house remodel Paul being how gorgeous the garage turned out. We were in your hood, on Spider Lake last week on a pontoon boat and I took a cruise listening for construction noise and looked to see if I could find your place from the lake.

Bob, next time you’re up shoot me a text and you can come down for look and a beverage. We’re in Naperville seeing the little guy this weekend, back on Sunday night.

Thanks guys, started the west side yesterday. It’s like child’s play compared to the last two sides.

Noticed your row elevations don't match on the corners where two sides meet. Not a big thing, just noticed.
Yeah, it doesn’t really bother me, they don’t match on the far side either. They do match where people see it the most and that’s facing the garage/lakeside elevation. But the lakeside from under the windows upstairs is T-111 siding that will come off anyway when we remodel and attach the house to the garage.

If you look real close you will see a piece of siding under the window that is lighter in color. I had to paint a couple pieces that were very scratched up and used the paint that Menards mixed for me. Not quite exact match.

All done with my outside work, siding work has been completed. I went back to 9/25/23 a year ago to see where I was at just for kicks. The weather was ok last fall but not as nice as this fall. 1727294970101.jpeg
Flash forward to 9/25/24 and we now move on to the next stage, upstairs inside work and planning for the main house. I do have an architect drawing some renderings up for me as we speak so it will be interesting to see what he comes up with.

More pics to come as things progress upstairs, but, I do need to do some fishing and get everything ready for winter.

Great progress! If you are like me you will enjoy the garage the most in the winter when you can work in a warm garage

Thanks guys, I enjoy it in all seasons, it’s just nice to have dry space and lots of it. It’s cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter being built into the hill. The trucks and anything with an engine loves it as well!
