I can't wrap my head around the fact that some think we're at the mercy of "The World Market" for oil and gas when not long ago we were net exporters of energy. We're begging OPEC to produce more, still buying from Russia and just plain refuse to allow our producers to go after it. we are living in bizzaro world.
Think? The US "Exports" very large quantities of Crude Oil, and Value Added/Refined Products. Very much more than what we import. Crude Oil, gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel. and etc, Big $$$$$. There are no more "limits/quotas", as to what volumes of Crude Oil, or Refined Products can be exported out of the USA. Those have been gone for quite some time now. So we either pay for what the world market will bear, or, it simply goes where they will. That's just how capitalism works in our free market system. Sadly, the "traders, speculators gaming" is all part of it. And, so, there will be some "Gouging" along with all that. Like it or not. Russian imports are now down to 2% of all total imports, down from around 6%. However, still 2% too much!

The other day, my fiancé had a woman come into her work (medical office) and was bragging that, because of the new president, she no longer has to pay a $25 copay for the visit and that it’s so great! This medical office visit ended up costing her well over $100 on her deductible plan… These are the types of people we let have voting rights! Unreal! Driving past gas stations, and walking into stores and seeing the prices, makes my blood boil so much I almost don’t want to leave the house anymore. You can sit and argue until your blue in the face about electric cars, but at the end of the day, the vehicles that deliver all of our food and necessities, run on diesel fuel! Which is nearing $5/gal in most places! What do you think that will do to the prices of these products? Fact of the matter is, POLICIES AFFECT GAS PRICES!
That's right...isn't it funny how the prices don't affect the people who dont have to pay...thanks to the people that do???..... how soon they forget! price increases are just a triple whammy for those that pay.

Its the New Green Deal. Because the only thing we will be able to afford to do is watch the grass grow. We won't even be able to afford to mow our lawns!
careful what you say....im sitting on a bid that I submitted and won in June 2021 (for 3 mowers) that my cost has gone up just shy of $20,000.00, that's on 3 MOWERS!!! and still waiting for them. I ordered heavy this year as well because by June of last year obtaining any new equipment for sale had all but become a dream, now wondering as everything else hikes up if America will have any extra money to spend

Costs are going up for everything. It would be hard to accuse anyone of gouging right now. My costs are sky rocketing now and almost can’t raise prices fast enough. Everyone wants cheap…all the time but that’s getting harder and harder to make possible.
Consumer expectation is as high as ever yet they still want it as cheap as it was 5-10 years ago. The race to the bottom pricing is over unfortunately for all of us. The trend has changed and people will need to adjust accordingly.

Elections do have consequences as anybody with a brain knows. Most of the time these people that think they are getting such a great deal on their Affordable Care Act insurance don't even know that they are actually getting screwed into a lot of bills that in the end the taxpayers will end up paying or Health Providers just raise prices for those of us that do have insurance and our premiums go up. It all started back in 2014 or 2015 with Obamacare, that year my premiums doubled from $450 per month to over $900 per month for a family plan. Again, a vote against Trump just because you didn't like gave us this shit show, Biden supporters and voters are entirely to blame for this but the sad thing is that it could all be changed fairly quickly if they would get their heads out of their A$$'s.

November 8, 2022...every damn one of us better plan on voting!
I think that there will be a lot of voter remorse from the people that voted for Brandon and his merry band of thieves. If not then we have some pretty stupid voters out there.

I doubt if there is much gouging going on at the gas stations. The price differences are more a result of businesses not keeping up. Things are moving so fast that if your price coordinator takes a day off there is your thirty cents right there. The locals are not the bad people here.

Also if you think grocery prices are high now just wait until fuel surcharges kick in. The fixed income people will starve to death before they get a chance to vote in the next election.

bang for buck is going down also, when buying groceries look at the sizes, a lot of items have gone up in price 20% at the same time the size / quantity is reduced 15-20%

Yes fuel is going stupid up here, I live there and had friend say from time they left town drove to eagle river and back the diesel went from 4.79 to 5.09 but that was yesterday so I’m sure it went up again today. Last week Tuesday fuel for the groomer tank was filled for 3.48 per yesterday 1 week later 4.20 so .72 in one week for off-road fuel. Someone on Doo-talk posted Paradise Mi was at 5.99 for premium so 5.09 might be cheep.

This. The agenda will not be deterred from, no matter the cost. They have openly said it.

I do not have any stats, but Oil is a commodity as are Corn and Soybeans, our gasoline and diesel are "eco friendly" with E10, E15 and Biodiesel. I have to believe that the fact that Russia is a huge grain producer that the rest of the world is probably trying to figure out how to feed themselves and boycott Russia at the same time has probably raised the price of the food we pump into our vehicles along with the real gasoline and diesel.

It was noted that Russia exports on wheat total 18% of the worlds wheat and Ukraine's are 8% so 26% of the worlds wheat comes from those 2 countries. There will be food shortages in Europe with regard to wheat. Another 18% comes from other countries in that Eastern European region.

Leading exporters:
  1. Russia: US$7.9 billion (17.6% of total wheat exports)
  2. United States: $6.32 billion (14.1%)
  3. Canada: $6.3 billion (14%)
  4. France: $4.5 billion (10.1%)
  5. Ukraine: $3.6 billion (8%)
  6. Australia: $2.7 billion (6%)
  7. Argentina: $2.12 billion (4.7%)
  8. Germany: $2.1 billion (4.7%)
  9. Kazakhstan: $1.1 billion (2.5%)
  10. Poland: $1 billion (2.3%)
  11. Romania: $948.8 million (2.1%)
  12. Lithuania: $910.7 million (2%)
  13. Bulgaria: $699.2 million (1.6%)
  14. Latvia: $649.2 million (1.4%)
  15. Hungary: $630.6 million (1.4%)

i wasnt clear and didnt finish my thought, my bad, ehh

when they factor in the costs of production, subsidies, tax credits, paying not to farm and the resulting increase on food including bread, meat, profit loss to restaurants, etc biofuel is more

According to Robert Bryce of the Manhattan Institute, ethanol is proportionally 2.4 times less efficient than unblended gasoline.

i know not everything you read is true but using 40% of your corn crop to make people feel good is stupid but makes some rich
