Mother nature is surely unpredictable and JD does a great job. If you look at JD's maps from earlier in the week and he was the only on calling for it in NW WI (heavy snow bands), everyone else was calling for it more east. I do think it did move more West than most expected.

So, with that said, I get tired of the News in general making a big deal out of 3"-6" of snow coming and schools cancelling because it might snow. Virtually Every weather person must hate winter as they all cringe to tell their viewers it's going to snow a little and then make a big deal out of having to shovel or plow snow!

I'm bias as most of you are...we love the snow and winter....I'm just glad we got some snow out this last system and I can still go sledding locally this weekend!

Weds for us it was supposed to have light rain most of the day followed by 6-8 inches of snow. We got 2 hours of moderate rain and a dusting of snow. This morning we were supposed to get 1-2 inches of snow today and the sun is shining right now.

My Indian weather rock is more accurate than the talking heads on TV.

When we got dry slotted last night I knew it was over for us wind dropped, snow stopped no big deal & went to bed. Area snowfalls pretty much around 6 inches or less with continuing light snow today which is typical with any storm for my area. I'm NOT looking forward to severe subzero cold for highs next week :( ... I have had enough of that crap not pleasant riding conditions & was soooo nice on Wednesday RT ride to MT Arvon. Maybe bright sun & high solar angles will help?

Predictions from the NWS as high as 10 - 18" for our area yesterday.....then they slowly backed it down during the day. But last night at 10 PM they were still saying 9-13". OK...would have like to see the 15" but I'll take 10".

Woke up to 6" this AM! Yes it's windy but the snow was so heavy that it's not blowing around. They closed schools.....for what? Roads are plowed and in pretty good shape.

I wish for ONCE that the weather folks would say 6" is on the way and we get 14". All of the mouths on TV saying "stock up on bread and milk" and shouting "Snow Emergency" and that "a state of emergency has been declared in Wisconsin!" Sorry for the rant! This is certainly not directed at Mr. Dee......it directed at Mother Nature! She sure likes to change her mind!!! :)

Well at least 10" was closer. The local news around here forecasted 9"-13" Up until 10:00 when it was done snowing. Started with slush puppies falling from the sky. Then a little snow on top. All said and done 1.75". Could not even push that little amount with a shovel, had to use the snowblower just to push it off the drive, and it came out of the shoot with more water than snow. It was kind of like one of the play dough presses used to have as a kid. Now it is solid Ice out there as the temps drop. Oh well maybe it will set up on the trail and make it impervious melt and we will have a longer riding season :)

Seems like all year we got the lower end of every forecast. If 3" to 6" was forecasted we got 3". If it was 1" to 3" we got 1". Its just been that kind of year.

I just got back from riding with rp7x and his son, and we were in snow up to our waists at times, and they weren't drifts. I've NEVER seen snow like this up here.
