I just found out that the guy who was supposed to summarize my 2003 F7 did not do the job. After all the BS excuses he just didn't do it. Is there anything I should do before I start riding this winter. Man I am steamed! I just should have done it myself, lesson learned!

Grease everything and dump some seafoam in it. I'd pull the bowls off the carbs to see how slimed up they are. Pull the jets and make sure they are clean. You dont want to have a chunk of crude in there leaning it out. Good luck.

Drain the fuel completely. Replace with fresh fuel and some seafoam. Fresh plugs. Grease. Clean Clutches and Belt. Check coolant level. Check skid and suspension bolts to make sure they are tight. Then give'er. It should be fine. Id maybe mix the first tank 100:1 just to get some extra oil into the bottom end.

Sounds like some good quality time with just you and your sled. Grab a beer, turn the radio on and wrench away. Do it now, because the snow will fly again soon enough. Wouldn't want someone to work on my sled that is lazy and just makes excuses. You know your doing a good job when you do it yourself!

So when you park your sled do you drain the fuel tank? If not why would you have this guy do it? Why are you putting oil in the fuel? Do you do this on your sled when you first start it in the fall/winter? Maybe I've been doing things wrong all these years.

Thanks for the advice. Sled has always been taken care of in the past and ill make sure this doesn't happen again. It was one of those guys I used to work with who does some general maintenance around our cabin -ie plow drive, take out dock, cut firewood etc.. hes a good guy just kind of..... well you know. Im gonna do it early next week and waitin for the snow to fly!!

I don't think you have a problem just grease zerks, change plugs, clean clutches, change DD fluid a bit tricky may want dealer to do that, adjust track, check carbides, drain gas put in fresh gas run seafoam with fresh gas & RIDE.

I add stabil in the spring and I drain the fuel completely a few days before my first ride in the fall, and fill with fresh non ethanol fuel. I removed the oil injection and run pre-mix in both of my sleds, so I always have oil in the fuel. With his lack of fogging oil, there could be some rust in the bottom end, and some extra oil for the first tank sure cant hurt.

Is it absolutely necessary? Probably not, but I tend do things to my sleds that voids their warranties, and do all my own work on my sleds. Better safe than sorry.

This fall, I got lazy with my backup sled, and did not replace the fuel with fresh stuff, though I stabilized it in the spring. Sure enough, the sled would only run on one cylinder. Fresh fuel, and seafoam, and the injectors cleared right up and shes back up and running.

I allways drain my fuel. Then run it till it dies to drain the carbs. come fall (or new years this year) put fresh fuel in it.

Thats funny that all these years I've been filling all my tanks to keep the moisture out and adding stabile turning the fuel off and running them till the carbs are dry. Then in the fall/new years when I get them out I add Sea Foam and fire them up never had a problem. Draining all the gas seems like a pain. Then grease and all that jazz too.

I never do any of that stuff. I just start it up every month or so, let it get good and warm high idle it , a few revs and clean outs, idle down and shut off. done Ive never had any issues, never had to clean carbs just grease, clean, drain neccesary fliuds, top off everything needed, complete check , inspect, and go!
