Tek Vest

Not sure what model I have but it is the TEK Vest brand. like someone said you get used to it and then feel naked without it. It's like wearing a heavy sweatshirt underneath, so I usually just ride with a thin long sleeve shirt or I think a racing shell as opposed to a jacket would be a good option.

This is how I look at it: If the helmet and tek vest dont save my life it will at least allow for an open casket at my funeral. sorry for making it sound so grim.

tekvest

wont ever ride without one again I bought one off ebay and my wifes off craigs list.I would recommend the trail version with the zipper front. Ive had both and the zipper front is just easier for on off.

I have a safe jacket which I bought at a snowmobile show. I would prefer a tex vest just want to try it on before I buy it.

The point is I wear it all the time riding it keeps you warm and you feel safe. I feel naked without it. I usually lead the group and had a few close calls sleds heading straight for me.

I also wear it downhill skiing.

I have really been getting into snowmobiling the last couple of years. Is a Tek Vest worth the money. They sure look like this is as important as a helmet. Who makes the best? Were would a guy purchase one? Any help would be appreciated.
You bet its worth the money. When my carbides caught the tracks in the UP it spun me around and slammed me into the tracks. I was pretty bruised up but without the vest, I would have broken ribs and possibly my hip.
Never place a price on your safety

I wish I would have bought 1 years ago when I was looking at them. Furthermore , it would have saved my ribs on the 19th of december. I had to "punch out" after hitting a hole that I couldn't see until the last minute. I believe in these so much that I bought 1 for my son. I could not have foreseen still having the need to bail off of a sled at my age but some things never change. I still have flashbacks everytime i see a " snirt covered " divit in the trail. My ribs still hurt and I haven't slept comfortably for 3 weeks. I can't imaging taking the bars to the chest again. Just for the record.... my ribs & knee hurt more that my " ego ". LOL

How do they run in size? I wear either XLT or XXL.
thks

Tek is pretty good on the sizing being what it states it as is. Also mine has a ton of adjustment. If you wear xxl then order it as that. Mine is an XL and it sizes down to a lg. or up to a snug XXL. also depends how you plan to wear it. I wear mine over everything but the Shell layer. To add some fun to it I bought those fake bullet holes and added them to the upper portion of my vest. I also hope it deters it from getting stolen or accidently borrowed at a pit stop.

I used my new Tekvest this week on a three day trip up North, and really liked having it on. It was comfortable, helped keep me warm, and added piece of mind.
It'll definetely be on any time I ride from now on.

It's kinda like a seat belt. You feel naked without one once you start wearing it.

Just started wearing one this year. Love it. Feels a little different at first, but now its no different than putting a helmet on. Money well spent.

I never leave home without mine. I feel totally naked without it. While my husband would probably enjoy me that way, I'm sure he would change his mind if the twins were injured in any way!

If you need to be somewhere on Monday, wear your Tek vest on Sunday. Can't stress this enough. I have run over enough guys in my life without vests on. If you are in all black at least stand up when you fall off so I have less to hit. Think about it! Tek Vest. period. I am right behind you!. I have been there. I don't want to kill anyones father. Tek Vest. get it!

sounds a bit hard but if you ride you need it. I have seen dead on the trail more than once. get a Tek vest and ride sober. Look at the sled on display at north end of Newberry. I just don't want to read about any JDeer dieing. I do not do death well and neither will your family.
