@lofsfire I know a guy that rides with his wheelchair strapped to the sled! He lives in the Stevens Point area - not sure if he’s still on a Yamaha, but that’s what he did! Strapped it to the back of the sled and rode!

Looks like this thread is a poor mans version of the Guest Shots folders!

That is great for him! I've only seen two other guys, one over in Cadillac. The other was not on the trail but it was the full custom sled set up for Garrett Goodwin at the races in Lake Geneva.

This thread should hold us over till next season, thank you all for sharing, About July 4th this will be good to revisit.

It has been a great season in Vilas this year. You could ride every weekend since Christmas except presidents day weekend. Will be taking last ride tomorrow in Gogebic if we aren't buried in by the storm.

Guys, these are great! If anyone questions your reasons for snowmobiling, show them some of the smiling faces on this thread. It's why we work the long hours and pay the prices we do to allow for a few days with old buddies and new friends. I think one of my favorites so far is the one with a group of guys, at night, standing at an intersection, talking to what looks like a Groomer Op. Just shootin the bull, looking for their next hot meal or the best trails home. If there's a better way to spend your free time during the winter, I don't know what that would be. Keep the pictures coming!

I think you are referring to my pic. If so, that’s in watersmeet (forgot which junction) Goofy600 on the right without gear on. He was grooming (which we knew) and when we saw him we stopped to say hi. My son and I are in the pic along with whitedust, euphoric1 and venturenorth. Same group in the other pics just later in the night. Great day. First time I met goofy.

150/3/107 junction Goofy rode with us the next day concluded with groomer barn tour. Good times.

Great photos, thanks to all for sharing. As an aside, I'm amazed at the great night/low-light shots and what everyone's phones can do these days. Not long ago, night time photos were grainy blobs of shadows and with so much of our winter riding being at night, it's awesome to capture some of those memories.

Here's one my son took while grooming this season. I thought the "sparkly trees" were very cool.

Great idea for a thread Gary.

I had so many pics from this season I don't even know where to start. Awesome year for sure. One week based out of our place in Florence. Was able to ride with Venture North, Whitedust, Euphoric1, my son and even met Goofy600 while he was out grooming.

Then we went out to Island Park/West Yellowstone for the first time and all I can say is WOW. I may have posted some of these already a few weeks ago but wasn't sure.

Yellowstone / Island Park area was a bucket list trip for me. Did it a few years ago and it is amazing! Except for the drive!!!

It was a fantastic year in Northern MN. We had rideable snow from 12/15 thru now. Still planning to go this weekend and a late April ride. Throw in a trip to Utah and it was another good year with 0 mechanical issues!

That was about 4 miles in… all a steady climb up the hill from Schroeder where it started out at 12-18” to where I ended up in the pic around 40” deep (I’m 6’5” and it was well over my waist). I finally turned up the side of the trail and gave up as the temp just kept rising past 140 towards 150 with it having to be nearly pinned to the bar the last mile or so… I figured it would be easier stomping snow below the sled and letting gravity help me get it turned around. Yeah I know I’m on a trail sled, may have the proper tool for this kind of riding the few times I go for it next year…

to be honest I enjoyed the adventure heading west. 2 days out and 2 days back with my son in parts of the country I had never been before. Wide open highways NO traffic. I don't mind driving so that helps, but yes for most people the ride would suck.

HA - I have been considering the correct tool for the job, even if I wouldn't ride it more than a couple weekends a year. I seem to find this deep stuff more frequently than I should with my 137" trail sled....

With things winding down from another season on the snow we thought it'd be a good time to post your highlights and maybe a picture or two. With snows all around us, our local trails never opened. Our trip to Price County was great but some health issues following that trip limited my season to just one trip. Apparently, riding snowmobiles is one of the worst things you can do for your back according to my Chiro. The constant motion, up and down, back and forth for a guy my age and only average conditioning is cause for some moderate pain. (I'm not a kid anymore but I guess I still ride like one.) The Doc's got me straightened out and all is good but by the time I was back to 100% the snows were going fast. I did get the oil and filter changed and I still want to blast the suspension with a pressure wash before putting her to bed for the summer. We'll be ready to go at the first signs of snow next winter.

gary, after being advised by many on this JD site, some years ago, my wife purchased me a Teeter Inversion table. Absolutely unbelievable results! As it did more for me in the first several weeks, than all the Chiro's I've seen in my entire life! Absolutely awesome, riding snowmobile, or doing whatever. No looking back, no bull, just facts! No more Chiro.

I've heard good things and thanks for the tip. I need to wait to see if this reoccurs. If not, then I'm good to go. I pushed things a bit yesterday with some landscaping and it felt fine today. Glad to have you back with us, Abe.
