Status Update

Looks like a valve problem on cylinder #3 and the dealer was pulling the cylinder head off the pickup today at 2:00 PM when I was leaving with the asthmatic at 10,000' 5.3L Silverado rental. The Black Pearl in its 400+ hp glory should be back up and running Friday.

Got to rescue the second truck down this afternoon that made it from Michigan to about a mile from the finish line. That last grade up the side of the Snowy Range was all she wrote. New corollary rule - Don't eat red snow.

Good to see and meet everyone tonight at the Beartree. The chocolate birthday cake hit the spot. Our thanks to Pat's mom!

And the drive to Wyoming from Mavrik, Alaska was long. ;)

Pictures and movies tomorrow night.

Only one sled totaled in first hour. He can adentify himself. Picks up new cat at 8am. Pat, we got to ride together tomorow. Went to 7 fools and widow maker today. What a great time. Found some nice powder on back side. Quite a windy place to ride.

Sledder on the left, "Where the heck are we?"
Sledder on the right, "The GPS says we're west of Laramie."
Sledder on the left, "For some reason, that doesn't help me."

This carving stuff wears a person out. We need an oxygen bottle with one line to the helmet and another to the engine.

Well the freezing fog sucked this morning. Trail rode down to lincoln park to get out of the cloud and found chest deep powder in the trees. Pushin snow over the windshield. Anything in the open is set up and windblown but the trees are stupid deep in that area. Gona try French creek tommorow if its clear.
