Have had many high performance 2 strokes.
3 years ago I bought my first 4 stroke. 2007 Apex RTX. Then I bought a 2015 Apex XTX.
Now I just took delivery of my 2021 Sidewinder.
I will not be going back to 2 strokes anytime soon.

Love my 2017 Thundercat. Love, and I'm a mother of five trail legal snowmobilers. Only time I ever wished for my CFR 800 was after putting on over 300 miles of almost all forest twisty trails in one day. Next day got back out there and put the throttle to the handlebar and remembered why I love my sled.

Question that I cant find an answer to, will two 137s fit in a 6x14 cargo trailer? I know they fit in a 7x12. Obviously have to go reverse of eachother.

Are you an Amsoil dealer? How much oil do you go through a season? Holy cow!

Last year I put on 6340 myself, and the backup with my kid got a little over 2000, so yeah, I go through a lot of oil! Another reason I thought about a 4-stroke, but not yet..... (The boxes under the sled are empty, I use them for trash!)

Going through some older pictures I found my Valentine 500 story. I would like to share! LOL. IMG951621.jpg This group of guys started out on a 500 mile journey on frosty February morning. Lots of rail trails just trying to hammer the miles. Nick Keller (snowballcancer.org) leading the way. First stop windshield.jpg that is my white Pro-S with the windshield the guys at Pat's told me I needed to watchout for low powerlines.... LOL. Sure was nice and warm. Nick was giving me a hard time that I was the first person who dared this challenge with a Polaris. About 200 miles into it the gal I was following all of a sudden darted to the left as we were approaching a old rail bridge. The ditch was steep and we were cruising about 50mph. Nothing but her ego was hurt luckily. The sled however couldn't continue. She was pissed! IMG_20160211_151327647.jpg Her and a couple ski-doos had to bow out of the event. I got lucky. I was over 400 miles into it when I felt what I thought was a rock or something. When we stopped a guy behind me noticed a couple screws bouncing around my floorboard. Everything was running fine. So I continued. Got back to Bergland for what was supposed to be our first meal of the day and more importantly so adult beverages. The basement of the BBB caught fire that night and they were closed... So onto the Hoop and Hollar. While there we got talking about the screws on my floor board. I went out and pulled the side panel and there was my ring gear in pieces on the belly pan. View attachment 62289 How that didn't slice my wire harness I have no idea. Anyway the hoop was wanting to close early so we all parted ways. I had my trusty brandy bottle and can of pringles in my motel room. With View attachment 62290 515 miles for the day. It didn't end the way we hoped but it was still awesome to take part in that. Plus we raised over $30,000 for cancer!! Snowballcancer.org. What Nick Keller has done over the years is amazing. To ride like that day in and day out is brutal. I will say without rock and roll in my helmet I would have never made it. Sure was a good time. We had a good crew. 17 hours on the snowmobile with nothing but short stops for gas or BS. What a day!! IMG_20160211_135541716_HDR.jpg

I've been riding Apex's for the last 10 years. I'm tired of the extra weight. I'm in the market for a 2 stroke Ski Doo. What I hear is those engines last quite a while before needing a rebuild.

Lots of work to do yet for me! The Indy 600 just got a new top end, composit talon 32 track, new primary clutch, rebuilt shocks, and the rest of the usual TLC. Little mans sport 440 is currently getting new slides, I chopped the windshield, put plastic skis from an XC on it and the rest of the usual TLC. My mountain sled doesn’t really need anything (surprisingly), my 04 pro x needs motor mounts, and the 2000 600 touring 2up I have a brand new chain case with fresh bearings and seals on it ready to install, couldn’t for the life of me get that one to stop leaking ever since I popped the cover off so I figured it has to be warped (yes I tried everything not once or twice but 3 times already). Crunch time here!! 3F2137A5-8823-4F30-9F50-2466C3CEF959.jpg

Indy, is that a factory windshield or did you cut that down yourself. If so, what'd you use? Just curious, I've fooled around with those in the past but couldn't get it right.

Gary

I’ve trimmed the windshields on a handful of cheaper/beater sleds and they’ve all turned out great! I measure my height, bend the windshield flat on a table, and tape a straight line across it. Then I take a plastic cut off wheel on a dremel and zip across it. Little bit of de-burring to do, I usually use a file or razor blade. Then lay the windshield trim back around it and trim it to the new size. Couple tiny dabs of super glue and it’s never gone anywhere on me. If you’re going for a painted look, the key is to paint ONLY the inside of the windshield. From the outside it looks factory this way and also holds up to tree branches as they never contact your paint. I’ve yet to try any shapes or different curvatures, but have had good success this way so far.

Mountain sled doesn't need anything? Hmmm, that's because you need to ride it more, cough cough...domesticated Indy...cough. :)

Indy. Are you using synthetic chain case lube in that 2000? You may want to try a conventional lube. The synthetic lube can leak through older style seals.

Just picked up a 1985 formula MX hasn't been run in 13 years, garage kept, very nice shape except nose cone, has a large crack and pushed in. I don't remember the material these were made of, not sure if can be repaired or does anyone know where best chance would be to find one? it is black.
