Thoughts on Riding Next Weekend?

I guess you guys like to waste your time, money and backs riding in bad conditions more than I do. I've been doing this thing for long enough to know that things change when temps get in the 30's and 40's. I've had three trips already with crap conditions. I don't want another this year.

Any thoughts on how things will hold up next weekend in the Northwoods and UP with temps in the 30's and 40's? Thanks in advance for intelligent replies.

Intelligent replies? Florence a little thin, rode there other day.

Trip is booked. Florence, Wisconsin wins the right to host me.

Good luck,
I'm up here now leaving shortly it's 35 and sunny gonna b 40 today. Gonna be 40 plus by Friday. They didn't have much to work with. Woods and shaded areas r ok now. South facing hill r dirt. Lots of brown corners. Tons of traffic. Thinking by next weekend you're gonna b hurting got snow.

IMO Florence County has a history on the Travel Wisconsin snowmobile trail conditions website of way over hyping conditions. Still showing excellent conditions right now (not updated since 2/1 though). But during the warm up a few weeks ago they were saying very good to excellent and reporting better conditions than the western UP, meanwhile I was seeing rider reports of trails that were shot. Not sure if it's the area chamber of commerce making those reports trying to entice people to come up or what. But for me I'd take their reports with a grain of salt.

I will be passing through Florence on Fri. Stay in truck an hour longer and be in 3' of snow. You must like snirt?

Had a trip to Minocqua canceled in January due to warm temps and rain. Was rescheduled for this upcoming weekend and I see now the temps are supposed to be in the mid 40's. Mother nature can go to ****

No. Probably going to cancel hotel tomorrow. I was trying to cater to the group by keeping the travel short as possible, meeting a guy from Crivitz area, all while being reasonable as far as snow conditions. We also need one rental. I'm also reading things about things being booked up in the UP, so it looks like it's just not going to work out. That's the old problem of snow being concentrated to basically one area. I'm tired of stressing out about the whole thing.

As of Friday snow gets deeper from iron river west.
The ride on 15 south between 8 and 2 was best cond.
Mass and Greenland are deep.
I'd stay off trails with alot of plowed edge riding.

Yeah because the businesses up there will give an honest opinion. LOL. I trust real opinions and reports from this site more than I do anyplace else. That's why I asked.

I never said to call a business. Don't assume.

How's the snow and trails looking in Chicagoland? I would have to think having snow in UP is better than no snow?

Exactly my point.

I wouldn't put too much into the forecast a week out. I almost canceled this weekend because of inaccuweather calling for 40 yesterday but I went and don't think it got above 35. Trails in price County were some of the best I've ridden in long time.

You can prolly make things happen out of IR American Inn right on Trail 2 will be pretty good with warm temps not great but ride north from IR only 30 miles NW of Florence... Northland right in town rents sleds.

Middle of next week winter is coming back until April ..........
Surely you're being facetious - not happening. Northern WI will be toast, as in done, by 2/20. Ahh-haaa...I just read the TEXT - no offense intended. Where's 'Nash. Surely you meant Shirley, and not Shurley!
