time to get to work

been to Big Horn Mtns riding sleds, down to Treasure Island Fl for a working/vacation, have traveled nearly 6000 miles in 3 weeks and I am tired of driving. We drove our Chrysler Town & Country mini van to FL. Van has 276,000 miles now and ran like a top. Best mileage was 29.7 and worst was 21.7. Brake caliper started hanging up in N Georgia and I was near an exit where I found a O'Reilly's auto parts and changed the caliper in the parking lot. Next day the other side did same exact thing 2 blocks from an auto parts in St.Pete beach area. The old van is a real quality vehicle and would buy another in a heart beat but no need as it runs perfect. Well,,,not perfect, this winter I started to develop a hard starting issue where I needed to give the vehicle some throttle to get it to fully start other wise it would fire but never pop over. It also falls on it's face under full throttle. Both power windows do not work, rear electric hatch hangs up more than ever and power slider door changes direction when just about closed.

Anyways, time to get back to work to start paying for another years worth pf expenses!

Any knowledge of the issues on my van,,LMN. I did replace the power window motors and it lasted a few months. Someone told me to do the regulators at the same time?

With 276,000 miles you may want to consider replacing the old girl (van). Looks like it will start to nickel and dime you from here on out. Good Luck.

Yup gotta do both my mom had the same issue with hers. Hard starting/falling on face under full throttle sounds like for sure fuel pump to me.

276,000. WOW, you must of saved a bunch of money driving the old girl that long. Good for you, having the cahunas to drive it all over the country with that many miles on it. I would think if everyone did this prices of cars would go way down.

kinda have, I hate payments but my wife and I are both thinking to replace it in the next year or so. The seating is perfect for our family and going up in size to a surburban or Excursion is not necessary, already had an Excursion. I have no problem putting some money into it here and there because it beats the monthly payments but when the miles get this high I honestly am a bit worried of the trans. The motor is quiet and no smoke but does use a quart of oil between oil changes.

Hey Lenny, what happened to the VW you had last summer? Wasn't that in great shape after you finished it up? May not have been the right size but probably beat 276 on the T & C.

I bought that VW as a project to make a few bucks and did so.

Looks good Lenny. There is a product caller Wet and Forget" that cleans up mold and mildew and keeps it from coming back. It probably would not have taken that amount of mold off but a quick spray after it was cleaned will keep it mold free for a long time.

X2 Wet and Forget great stuff that really works! You have to wait for it to do its magic & would have not had instant results but would have taken that mold off for sure. Took moss & mold off my north roof 1 application 1 year later looking very clean. I would recomend Wet and Forget simple hose application & will self-clean with each rain. Very good stuff!:)

I did actually look into other products such as what you guys are suggesting but she is going to rent the place on a weekly basis for people on vacation and wanted it to look good right away. I did suggest to her sons to spray something on it to prevent mold. I do hope they do it but again I can have another vacation in a few years. That roof is 14 years old and has never been cleaned, looked like crap after 14 years!

Easy to see in FL who cleans tile & who does not my bud has tile roof but won't clean it or let anyone walk on it looks BAD. Told him I would Wet and Forget for him just for grins & giggles but paranoid to let anyone up there. I was wondering if someone was cleaning tile with cherry picker for the paranoid types? Then thought this could be a good steady biz down there if I felt like working.lol Any idea on costs to powerwash typical tite roof in FL on average 2000ish square foot house?

you can walk those roofs with no problems. You walk on the lower 3rd of the tile where it overlaps and I didn't break one single tile. I spent 26 hrs cleaning that roof. Chemicals will work but it takes 6-12 months on the directions I read. I think with a stronger power washer and a more adjustable head you could do most roofs in a single day and charge $750. The ideal situation would be to power wash the roof like I did than spray it to prevent it from coming back. You could do a spray annually and keep a roof looking new and shedding water quickly. It's a win win for all but most do not care to much about the appearance like my mom in law does.

Probably would buy cherry picker so no broken tiles can't blame the power wash guy & combine with tree work would be the way to go. :)

could probably do many roofs like that but you still have to deal with power lines and truck in the lawn, ruts,,,etc,,,,. I'd just walk the bad boy and be done with it
