time to get to work

Yep... don't know why I get these flashes from time to time to work since retired but seems like a good buck to be made power washing tile roof with endless customer base. I would be worried about walking & cracking a roof tile & someone trying to get the power washer guy to pay for repair.

The title of your thread is "Time to get to work."
And on that note, I open today. Two rooms rented for two nights...and we're off!

Could be fuel filter. My company has Dodge/Chrysler vans and most are at 175000 to 250000. Your mileage is in my opinion at the end of life or you will be putting in a car payment a month or more for repairs. Get a newer one with 100,000 on it. I don't care for the new style(boxy) and would look for a 2008 I think is the last of the old style.

probably why, my buddies mom also has a 3.8 grand caravan sounds horrible also! A lot of the vans with the 3.8 had tranny problems, im willing to bet the 3.3s were rock solid with less power? maybe its not always a bad thing to get the smaller motor! LOL

Have been more than satisfied with the power of the 3.3. It passes real good and has plenty of power for everyday use. I'd buy another in a heart beat. Yesterday I did fix both the side door and rear hatch problem and all it was that it need to be cleaned and properly lubed. Also I did check voltage at the power window switches and good voltage there. Over 12 v all the actual window motor but no movement and the motor are less than a year old. If I buy new regulators and motors I'll be set back over $200. Maybe I need to get the good stuff from a dealer,,,,lol,,could you image how much both regulators and motors would be from a dealer

LOL he was well aware of it as we disclosed in the ad "motor has a tick/knock". Just sold our mower on saturday too. darn ticks are everywhere!

some ticks are not an issue and go on for a few 100k

Our 98 Caravan we use for work has 185k on it now, 3.8 in it, no tick.

I can believe, I never even heard that the 3.8 were prone to ticks, may just be a personal experience a few had

when this guy says stuff like "The fuel filter on the minivan is located on top of the fuel tank, and has no factory service interval. Replace as needed (like when it is plugged up with dirt or rust from the fuel tank)" tells me he's not to professional. I read the entire article and see nothing concerning. Mine is an 01 with a metal intake and metal valve covers. He admits some tapping in the valve train is cause by heavy oil viscosity which is slow to pressurize the lifters. I have always used 5-30 and have no noise. He said some noises were from a bad water pump or trensioner and all engines are subject to this same thing. I'll likely turrn 300,000 miles before the years end and that is proof enough for me that it is an adequate designed engine capable of long life like most motors that are well taken care of. He also states this "If a vehicle owner seldom checks their oil level (or never checks it, which is often the case with a family vehicle such as a minivan), the oil level may become dangerously low. This can starve the upper valvetrain, camshaft, lifters and crankshaft bearings for oil at higher engine speeds. You know the rest of the story. Sooner or later something seizes and it’s the end of the road for that motor"

Well duhhhhhhhhhh

One issue I see is that he has no explanation how some motors are long lived and some are not. He seems to chalk it up to,,,,, odds? Does he not understand maintenance maintenance maintenance!!!!! That's usually the answer. You abuse something and it shortens it's lifespan,,,simple logic. I take maintenance very seriously because I want the investment to perform and keep my family safe,,it seems to work. I mean she may loose the trans tomorrow and I'll junk the thing but not much more I can do except keep a close eye on it's systems and just drive it. I paid $2025 off eBay over 4 years ago and put 150k on it.

Any vehicle out there will have failures when you look at the masses. It's inherent to it's intended use, some more severe and some less, depended on where and how it's used. Understand that and you can go many many miles! The interior of our van is real good still and comfortable. The vehicle is smooth and quiet, economical on fuel. Would and will buy another when this one craps out!

You must have a lucky horseshoe hanging around or something LOL we had NO LUCK with our taurus. T&C needed injectors at 40k and fuel pump other than that it wasn't too bad until it really started knocking bad at 120k.
