Just throwin this out there. If you have a car or truck that is bad on gas sell it now. Prices are ready to spike and we are running out of new fusions as we speak. Just trying to help people from getting stuck in their cars. If you were planning on making a move you do not have much time.

Why not start switching to natural gas engines? Forget foreign oil, help our ecomomy building new vehicles, service stations, distribution infrastructure etc. Aren't we the middle east of Natural gas? Maybe it would put people to work and help pay taxes? What am I missing?

You have to drive allot of miles per year to justify trading vehicles over the price of fuel. And for those that are trying to sell me on there purchase of a second vehicle to save gas money, you're just crazy.

don't you mean propane. Natural gas needs a pipe attached. Thought about it. We have a propane powered bus. get about 100 miles between fills. hard to find places to fill you up. not as easy as gas. Plus you get less BTU's than gasoline per gallon, making less HP. Also not big on having a preasurized tank on board in case of a crash. Diesel conversion on boat would run about 60 grand. I can buy a lot of gas for the cost of a conversion, then still would need to buy diesel. By the way the "short bus" is for sale. It hauls mostly "drunken sailors" during the summer.

Tell me about fuel mileage. We have three vehicles.
2004 pickup = 18 mpg = less than 36,000 miles
2008 smaller car = 38 mpg = almost 100,000 miles
2005 smaller car = 38 mpg = almost 200,000 miles
I love the truck but I cant afford to feed it. The little cars almost payed for themselves. Of course most dont put on the miles we do.

never knew of a truck that gets 18 MPG's. must be a little Nissan ot Toyota with a 4 banger. Best I get is 15 on the highway with a Hemi, when the cylinders start shutting down by some very expensive exposed wiring and a computer. Probably could of bought a ton of gas for the cost of that energy saving device that looks expensive to replace = nothing gained.

Nope Dodge Dakota 4.7 V8 automatic trans. It actually gets better fuel mileage than my 2000 Dakota with a V6 and stick, go figure?

"What can you do for me and a boat that gets 1MPG? used to get .8 MPG until I got the props tuned. 20% increase."

I'm not a math major but that would be a 25% increase.

I'm sorry but.... are you serious? Our bog-standard 4.6L 2010 F-150 regularly sees 21MPG on the highway. My friends modded 07 Ram diesel gets mid-twenties when we take it biking. I assume we're talking highway based on you talking about cylinders shutting down while cruising. I don't know what to tell you.... do you normally see a lot less than EPA estimates while driving?

I didn't notice that until I read it. True, 1 is 25% more than .8, while .8 would be a 20% decrease from 1. Either way, pushing a boat through water isn't efficient... lol, who knew?!

Maybe it'l be time to snatch up a big gas guzzler when the pricies on them drop. Looking to upgrade the Tundra!

Here's a picture of my new "Pro Trail Racer". It's been a bit more than I could handle though, I blew a corner and broke off the trigger side handlebar first trip out. Haven't quite figured out what I'm getting for mileage. The dealer told me that once it's broke in it should make 2013 EPA spec's. The only complaint I have so far is with the exhaust system, it's just way to close to the operator. I was hoping MBRP or SLP would have something to solve this.
