Was at the Novi show and it seems they price rooms per person. With 4 person occupancy in a lodge room it's $520. Am I the only one that thinks that's a little high? I'm wondering is they do any promotions or coupons. I plan on going regardless just wondering if anyone knew any secret deals that they could share. Thanks in advance for the help.

I know if your doing the inclusive winter package they price per person. The rate does fluctuate based on how many in each room. They have early season pricing that ends sometime in November...I can't recall. I feel the pricing is fair for what you get in the package...Hotel transfers, Buffet Breakfast, Happy Hour, Dinner and Guide.

It depends on how many nights you were quoted. (How many nights did the $520 include?) If I recall, a lodge room with 2 queen beds breaks down to approx. $119 / night per person depending on which promotion your using. Pricing varies, depending on which promotional package your on, but $119 per night for your lodging, breakfast, guide, dinner and happy hour is pretty reasonable in my opinion.

Four in a cabin sucks unless you want to sleep with your buddy! Take 2 lodge rooms for 4 guys. You should be about $119 each. Breakfast, dinner, happy hour and guide is included with that price. That's a deal. I have stayed there for a little less but depends on time of year.

If you are willing to risk the entire cost (ie - no return on your 100% deposit payment) you can use the Promo Code "togadvance" and get 25% off ther regular rates. But then the risk is on you, and not them. If you don't go, no refund.

I also just called today, asking for a 4 person package for 7 nights, includes guide, food, lodge, happy hour, in Feb, and they quoted me $1,100 a guy. Way too much in my mind. Without the all inclusive, Two rooms and the discount are $500/guy. A cabin with the discount is $400/guy, but two have to share a bed. Those prices aren't too bad. Not super cheap like staying in the U.P., but reasonable I guess. Some people are just used to having it be like $30/night per guy. Not going to find that out there. Lava Mountain has park model trailers for $800/week for 4 guys. That's a great deal.

Some people save money and stay somewhere down the mountain and drive up every day (maybe more so near the snowies). That's seems like a big hassle to me and a complete waste of time. Once you get up there, the extra costs make sense - you realize you are absolutely in the middle of wilderness not just up the road from the next little northwoods town.

We've stayed in the togwotee area a couple times. The last time we rode with guides from togwotee. Totally worth the price in my opinion. We learned a ton and rode places we never would have dreamed of getting into. There are some other horse ranch type places on the hill out there. Some are around lava mountain, and some are more towards jackson, if I remember right. Some of them may have some cheaper prices or have setups where you cook your own food. But to me, if you're going to drive or fly all the way out there, let them deal with the food. In the end, you're probably +/- $150 one way or the other for the whole trip. And I'm a guy with a very limited riding budget...

something is wrong with that quote! $109/night if you are all in one room includes breakfast, guide, happy hour, and dinner. Even if you got 2 rooms. In the lodge you are at $129/night. My math says 7 nights is 900 or so max? 770 if you squeeze in one room...

Just the rooms are $50/night per guy, so then you are paying $75 per guy a day for breakfast, dinner, and a guide. Most would agree you can get by a lot cheaper than $75/day for food, and the guide, although pretty cool to have, can also be avoided, especially if you have someone in your group that's been there before. There is also truck gas out and back, sled gas, perhaps other hotel costs along the way, and intangibles to consider. When you walk in to the trip, not even having left your house, and already spent $1,000 for a week of fun, it's a little daunting. I can take two people to Cancun for a week for less than that.

So just be aware that the cost doesn't work for all, even if it does seem to be a good deal.

Togwotee's prices are certainly fair for what you get, but it can be done for substantially cheaper. It all depends on how much value you put into convenience.

Just to put it in perspective, I can do a week long trip to the Snowies with four guys, there and back for under $700 total. (the cheapest I ever did it was $450, back when fuel was a LOT cheaper) Yes I have to spoon with a buddy, and cook my own food, and read my own map, but when your on a budget you look to shave cost any way you can. We give up convenience as a way to shave costs. To each there own, all depends what you want/expect out of your vacation.

One of these days I would like to be able to do the whole "rockstar" thing, but right now, I'm stuck with the "nuts to butts" thing. lol

My time has greater value than my money. I understand it is not the same for everyone, but cooking, hauling in gas is nickle dime savings for many. Happy hour hanging with the guides and other riders, hot tubbing, and general BSing is worth the difference for me. As we get older we realize time is limited and a week at Togwotee is never enough!!! I guess it is a, "what do we value and what is important to us" type of adventure. I do try to save on trnsportation out and back.

Totally agree, I work a little longer during the day doing what I do best so I can pay the whole Togwotee experience what they do best. I would not go to the summer like climates and bottle my own rum in the hotel. bath tub, or roll my own cuban cigars,??? I totally disliked the snowies and part of it was the truck up the mtn. Each day and night back down, eats up a ton of time.
