Don't get me wrong, didn't mean to say it wasn't a good value. But each person has their limit and definition of what is inexpensive for them. And even though I agree it's not the same as the UP, as a group, everyone has to be able to afford what you are doing, and be comfortable with the expense. There are less expensive options than the Winter Classic package..... that's all I'm saying. I just used Skyler's code (it's "preseason", skyler had a typo) and it's $125/night per guy. Just the rooms are $50/night per guy, so then you are paying $75 per guy a day for breakfast, dinner, and a guide. Most would agree you can get by a lot cheaper than $75/day for food, and the guide, although pretty cool to have, can also be avoided, especially if you have someone in your group that's been there before. There is also truck gas out and back, sled gas, perhaps other hotel costs along the way, and intangibles to consider. When you walk in to the trip, not even having left your house, and already spent $1,000 for a week of fun, it's a little daunting. I can take two people to Cancun for a week for less than that.
So just be aware that the cost doesn't work for all, even if it does seem to be a good deal.
