I have a great respect for all you guys that pay cash. I however intend to die with at least a million dollars of debt. Should I wind up in a resthome I will be easily identified by the Thundercat engine in my wheelchair. He who dies with the most toys wins. Surely you guys have heard that.

I usually pay cash but after watching what has been going on around me I feel like a ***.why did I not over extend my self with the house cars trucks boats cabin bikes sleds 4wheelers then say F it and not pay.it seams to be acceptable behavior some I know and fight with brag about it.my last sled I intended to pay cash when I walked in but got 1.9 for 24mo and payed it off in 12.went in a few days ago and asked if they had any financing deals and was shocked when he told me over 15%with great credit I would never do that one

Have a mortgage and that's it. Used to buy a new vehicle every 2 years, car for wife, truck for me, and always paid cash. 1 new sled every year, one for the wife one year, one for me the next, so our sleds were always only 2 years old, again always paid cash. Built an awesome cabin up on the north shore. Paid cash. Ahhh, the good old life.

All that changed about 3.5 years ago. We decided my wife should stay home with kids so she gave up an dang near 6 figure job, I changed jobs and we moved to the Duluth area. Now we drive a 6 year old truck, a 7 year old car, she has a 6 year old snowmobile with 5500 miles, I just got a new sled after getting rid of a 5 yr old sled with 6000 miles on it. So it's a different life than we used to lead. Don't want to finance anything so we don't buy unless we can pay cash. Saved for 2 years for my new 2010 RMK. I think our new vehicle days are behind us.

But, we still got the cabin and we still sled. And we take our kids with all the time and that's what is important. Thats what we and our kids will remember. They won't remember what sled we rode or what truck we drove but they will remember the great times we have spent riding, seeing moose and wolves, building big fires and having trailside lunches, getting off the beaten path, and doing things together. Sorry for the book!

Cash on everything for the most part. The only things I pay on are the house and vehicles. Both the wifes and my vehicles are 2006's and will be paid off by the end of this year. House has about 10 years left (I built in 1998). We too drive a little older sleds. (Mine-99 XC 700/wife-02 Indy 500). Don't get enough riding in to justify buying new-wifes 02' has 1700 miles. My most prized purchase as of late is my 08' Harley Ultra Classic on Memorial Day weekend of 08'. Stashed away $150 a month from 96'-08' and finally saved up the 20k needed. The wife knows biking is my biggest passion, so I promised her when I bought one it would be something she's really comfortable on. Now I think she likes riding more than I do. I always had toys growing up-----sleds, bikes, and quads. Sold all my stuff to ensure our life together got off to a solid financial start. Now have 2 boys 10 & 7 that take up a ton of time and money--(you know sports, vacations, creating memories, etc....:)), Seriously, I would give up all my material goods in a heartbeat for my family--I wouldn't trade my life for anything, but "toy time" has definitely taken a back seat for a while. Thankfully, I have a wife that allows me a very good balance between family and friends. Heading to Dallas for the race and a 5 day getaway with some buddies in a couple weeks-I can't wait. Life is good!!
