Yep, I think there is a couple of rides left but it looks like rain/ice for most south of Vilas, hopefully all snow for us. Let's keep in touch for next year and try and get a ride in.
I was going to contact you drive up for a couple of days but too manny variables to be dissatisfied. I’m disappointed but know what March is like in Vilas and you’re right a few more choice days when you live there and can pick and choose routes from home. Been there done that. Lol. Please contact me when in the SE WI area I’ll contact the guys and we can get together for a lunch and plan next season. 👍

Man you guys sound too picky. Most local trails opened up down here for the first time and there’s people ripping brand new sleds on 10” of snow with no base across plowed fields.
The icy corners and trails worry me a little bit with the racer boys up here, luckily I can wait until they leave and it's less congested. I say ride if you can, I understand that not everyone has what we have in our backyard. We have just entered ice season and everything under all that snow is pure ice, just be careful.

Eagle River will start Adventure Riding Conditions soon which means conditions suck and ride at your own risk. Lol Way too much ice underneath all trails and why the county asked people to not ride trails but left them open. Yep some time left but must be cautious of the other guy for sure. Oh well it is what it is. 🤷‍♂️

Road western UP and trail 3 from end to end Thursday and Friday 450 mi. Saw 2 groomers trails we're awful. Watersmeet area was ok.
Road in Lakewood wi. Area Saturday, saw 4 groomers in 40 mi.
I've seen all the sites through the years..for 52 bucks you can keep it.
270.00 for a room at the Ramada in Houghton no bar or restaurant, 28.00 for a cab ride for 4 each way over the bridge. I'm done.

I don’t think the trails are that bad, will have close to 600 miles on sense Wednesday afternoon and most have been good. Groomer tracker has been a great thing for picking my routes for the day.

They screwed the trails up real good up that way by not grooming before the rain. Hard to venture away from traffic on MI trails these days.

I didn't mean to sound that they were "bad" but definitely needed to be careful. In no way was I suggesting anyone else to not come up and ride. Just that I had all my gear and sled put away, even took off the trail pass stickers and ended up staying at the lake for a few extra days and the snow came. I decided to go out for one last ride and pulled everything out again. Trails in my area were a mixed bag for sure and in the end I found myself thinking about getting home and putting everything away again. I guess my mind was shut off for the season. This latest round of snow should only make things better if the groomers get out.

All good, as Whitedust has said many times living up here makes it a easier to get out and ride when the weather lets us. Also not having a set plan and just going where the trail conditions lead us and having groomer tracker has really helped me plan a direction and go where the trails take me.
