Just spent 3 hours taking them out of my new to me sled. All I know is it's a major PIA pulling them. I don't like them tearing up my driveway, garage, streets, trailers, etc.

You should be riding on the trail, not on those other surfaces! :)

Are you saying that by using studs in the track, it is causing bearing failure? What bearings?

bogey bearings. just about every bogey bearing in my dads 4500 mile sled is shot.

Indy, I'll bet in your case, it was NOT the studs causing the failure. In the 4500 miles how often were those bearings cleaned and repacked with grease or the bearings replaced??

After the riding season, remove the dust seal from any of those bearings and see what you find-water! If it is left in there during the off-season, it is only going to cause corrosion and eventually a seized bearing.

Also, my question was in reference to RMKrick and his comment of bearings gone bad.

144 Right down the middle, 1 1/4 ripsaw, best track ever, would never ride without studs, ice and rubber tracks don't mix, Its a nice thing being able to stop on ice.
