Here's an idea I've been kicking around for a while. There is a substantial following here on the Vintage Forum so I thought we would tap into some of the knowledge of our members. There's no prize but the first to respond with the correct answer will have bragging rights for 24 hours. I've got a top-secret database that we'll use for determining correct answers. I'll try to update the question daily, so you'll have another reason for checking in with SnowCentral. We'll get things started with the following....

What major snowmobile mfr. produced their own Trail Groomer and in what year?

Bingo! Actually, first came out in 1977 and had a 60" wide path. Thanks for the picture!

Name the original name for Ski Doo snowmobiles. Hint; The Cat, Polaris, and Yamaha guys are gonna have fun with this one.

I believe you are right, Ski Doo came about as a result of a misprint in their brochure which resulted in changing the name.

TRUE STORY; In 1959 Bombardier marketed their first snowmobile, initially baptized as the Ski Dog in reference to sleds pulled by Huskies.
Someone in advertising misspelled the name calling it a Ski Doo. Upon discovery of the error, Bombardier thought it sounded better and more memorable, so the name stuck. Now aren't you glad you're riding a Doo and not a Dog.

These are good Gary! I might have heard about the Ski Dog at one time but I had no clue about the Scorpion rig. Very cool.
