Just an FYI to everyone. The way it works anywhere in the country (and not just the UP) is that unless you have permission to be on the land, you are trespassing. The landowner is under no obligation to have to post it with signs. It is up to you at all times to know where you are and if you have permission to be there.

Also as far as power lines are concerned, this is nothing new. Power lines have been closed for many years (with DNR enforcement) in lower Michigan. IMO, I think it hasn't been really pushed in the UP because of so few people riding them (in comparison to LM).
In recent years the numbers of off trail riders coming to the UP to ride has increased dramatically, causing more attention to be paid to the closed off trail areas. Again just my opinion..

I really cannot say for sure. There are certainly sections of powerline down that way that would be off limits, but I cannot say for sure if they all are.

Sorry I could not be of more help.

Not a problem we will probably err on the side of caution and avoid them. I hate to be the SOB responsible for having a trail close or giving us a bad name to the residents. Please do a snow dance it was 50 degrees here today near your old town of Park Ridge I believe.

Think Snow.

For those saying they "ride the power lines all the time" anywhere and anytime and "always have" and are now asking if its legal or tresspassing - - Shouldnt you maybe have thought about the answer before and then made a decision ?

I for one have saw numerous tracks there and have also seen others riding them when I decided to ride them. Now please before you berate me for not checking first keep in mind that I for one do not want to do anything to draw negative attention to us or bring us into any bad light.

No jealousy here. Early season conditions are not for me since I like to play in the trees where most people won't go.

apparently you dont know our riding style...thats normally all we do. the early december trip is a tradition the original group started in the mid 80s. But on all our other trips we disappear in the woods and return for gas or food only. The steep and deep is where we head for. Powerline riding is not a norm for us...just something to do that weekend since snow wasnt Spectacular lol

ya sorry that sounded rude....bad day today haha. I was just tryin to lighten the mood when i said everyones jealous! haha I hope it snows soon! maybe see ya up in the yoop!

No. Da' chutes are back der' in Jyner Peaks, Goss Gulch, Broke Turbo Creek, the FLV, and Private Property Creek Valley. TOP SECRET. The event will be held some time in late February or March. The hardest part for any newcomers is the mandatory blindfolded ride in and out. lol

Goss Gulch and Broke Turbo Creek have insane riding. Let me know when you're going and I'll join you if I haven't sold the Bravo yet.
