oh man....the last sled i had with studs was a 1985 YAMAMAHAMA V-MAX piece o crud....glad i got rid of studs forever and YAMAHAHAHAHHAHAHA's too....2 things that will scar you for life

LOSE THE STUDS BRO AND LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER

its like losing the steel belted tires for radials...everyone fought that for years until they realized.....OUT WITH THE OLD TECHNOLOGIES AND IN WITH THE NEW....some tights wads still hang though.....computers design the tread pattern now and they far out shine studs in all conditions IMO

C'mon bub, ALL CONDITIONS? What about ice? ;)

Indy, project is looking good, now get them suspension arms sandblasted and painted up!

I will 2nd the ice I think I could spend all yr with the pick sharpener on the lug of a rip saw and still not hookup off the line on the 1010 I run 144 picks sharpened regularly and if the ice is at all soft I can make snow cone shavings for 50 feet then hit the nos and make more snow cone Ice for another 25 feet.but on hard Ice nothing like loading her up with nos on the line put all your weight as far forward as possible and go baby go no slip just hard pull and hope the belt holds out

got 2 coats of appliance paint on the rear torque arm, front has to be welded before i can paint it. Also got 1 coat of hi temp paint on the can, and the U pipe (not the Y) that connects the pipe to the can. I can't paint the pipe because it has this batting between it and the aluminum cover thing, i wirewheeled as much rust off the pipe as possible. Would the sled be louder if i took the aluminum cover off and the batting?

Some more progress... I'm going to try and put the suspension completly together without looking at a picture of one, or looking at the one on mine...

The suspension coming together, but still have to wait on the front torque arm to be welded

Exhaust Pipe, took the aluminum covers off, wirewheeled around the batting and polished the covers and put them back on, didn't turn out as shiny as i wanted.
