So got out the last couple days and things are slowly getting better in more than just the small area that has been good. Once the groomers can catch up with the new snow and weekend traffic with cold coming in things should get a lot better. Trail 2 around Watersmeet is still thin but going west towards Marenisco then to Wakefield is pretty good trail 1 going up west side of Gogebic was nice so there is hope.

UP Thunder Riders has now been able to finally get out and groom and we will continue as long as things hold up. Most of our trails are ok to pretty good. We are thin on our trail 2 in and out of Watersmeet with rocks in spots. By all means not pristine but we are rideable. Best I can tell trail 107 hasn’t been groomed at all this year as it is done by Iron River club and assume they don’t have enough snow to get out of iron river to get to 107. West towards Marenisco and Bonds Falls north our trails get really good.

Took a ride yesterday trail 13 to trail 2 west towards Marenisco flat with a few thin spots and rocks on grade but gets better west. Took trail 1 up to the Hoop and was fantastic. Took 102 from Bergland towards lake of the clouds and wow do they have snow don’t think groomers can even keep up with it. Silver City to White pine a little rough once back on Gogebic trail 1 it was fantastic still to Marenisco then trail 2 back to 13. 161 miles and most of it was great with tons of snow in the in the LES areas.

Thanks for the pics and info! The smile says it all! I'm heading up Sunday-Wednesday and staying South Range.
We'll see who the true riders are with those low temps:D

Ya no kidding! I have a strong feeling mine will be in a nice warm garage. Good thing is the Kew is usually a little warmer but if temps stay as predicted we will probably hold off grooming as to protect our equipment and drivers or possibly move to daytime grooming.

Trailers are rolling in, went by the food store at corner of 2 and 45 in Watersmeet and there was 13 so far and that is just day trips. Was told casino was booked and can’t get a room and it’s only Thursday. It’s going to be a busy one. If you are out please be safe and have fun.

Got out for a ride Friday started good by afternoon was getting pretty beat up with a lot of rocks showing on the grade. But groomers got out and the cold and 1-1 1/2” of snow at least hid the ugly. Went with groomer driver on Saturday from Watersmeet to trail 13 by Roger’s bar and was actually amazed it was better than I figured. Did pass 108 sleds in that 15 or so miles. Overall driver passed 187 sleds on our west route. Our north/ south driver said had to be 30 trailers a food store in town and probably 75-80 trailers at Casino. Grade out of Lando and grade east out of town are probably the worst of our system, just need more snow.
