What is this "hidden" feature?. Last time I searched Vintage Snowmobile. Two pages in I got a bunch (several pages) of granite counter tops, and kitchen cabinets. Really Pi.... me Off.

See that little circled X next to the end of the ad line? (I display by list) Click that, and it goes to your "hidden" list, so you never see that ad again, when they up the ad every single f'n day......

I know its difficult for the anti-doo-ites to understand, but doo protects their spring ONLY buyers with the X, XRS, freeride sleds. there are no rebates on them they never go on fire sales. I paid less than the above price on renegade X 850 in the spring. Where as the poo XCR, pro X or S, the cat RR or HCR or the Yamaha LTX-DX-FX-PX-GX-YX-BX-ZX or whatever heck its called are NOT spring only....you can buy them in season for HUGE discounts. So when they fire sale those sleds say buh bye to the value of your spring check high end sled. If I was a poo, cat /Yamaha rider or if doo didn't offer spring ONLY sleds, I would have a hard time spring checking, you know the same exact sled will be 3k+ off a few months after you get it.

I don't know about previous model years Yamaha because I wasn't paying attention. For '18 the only way you are going to get the QS3 shocks is to spring order. I will be the first to agree with you that there seems to be a confusing number of models and designations and you have to know what you are looking for. I was going to try to grab a leftover SW but the ones they are fire saling now were not spring orders. They are base models. There is a difference. Whether it s a $3000 difference that is in the eye of the beholder. I snowchecked a RTX LE 50th anniversary Sidewinder. The RTX means 129 track. The LE means QS3's all around and a heated seat I think. The 50th anniversary means Red, Black and White. A person has to sort all that out. To me the shocks make it worth it to spring order. To each his own. And getting back to the thread I sell most of my used sleds into Canada. It is a good deal for me and a good deal for them.

Makes sense. I have seen some with the QS3s for sale so assume they are not spring only. I could be wrong.

they say QS3s are much better than standard on the sidewinder. Congrats on a nice sled, if I was getting a SW I woulda went same as you but 137.

I've used most of the methods listed above: craigslist, Johndee, hardcoresleder and trade in. I usually don't mind trading in because I keep my sleds parked 6 hours from my house. That makes showing a sled difficult. Otherwise I go Craigslist and here first.

The only time I go off trail is when I blow a corner. So I don't need a 137. And I really don't think a 137 is going to hook up much better than a 129. Both are going to spin hard up to about 50. I am going to go against Tracker's advice though and stud the living bejesus out of it. I am looking forward to it. I have not had a brand new sled since 2007. It was either this or some configuration of the 850 'Doo. In a perfect world I would have one of each.

So these qs3 shocks....they give you 3 damping adjustments instead of the usual multiple click adjustment?
What us the magic of the QS3

While I can't verify snobuilders prices a person can usually get amazing prices on non current new sleds in November and end of year, depending on brand and left over sleds. I was searching a lot this Fall and many brand new non current were on the 9,### range. There were also many sleds with under 500 miles on them that were great deals.
As for how I sell my sleds....well usually the insurance company gets them since my last 2 sleds were wrecked before I got to sell them.

mustve been after a playoff game:)

137 unstudded my man...remember that...surface area = torque and studs = weight....ponder that

I hear ya. I have grown to like the 137s more, but that's personal preference. I would also stud the heck out of it ,no doubt about it. Spinning aint winning.

Question about the QS3's. I rode and jacked around with my air shocks for about a year until I found the sweet zone for my riding, which wasn't in the standard setting of the three QS3's (LXR, Sno Pro and RR), are they adjustable beyond the three settings?

Clickers and damping adjustments are just a gimmick. Always have been. Just a selling point. I have seen guys play with them and really believe they have their sled 'dialed in'. It is all in their head. I follow them and their sleds don't behave any differently no matter how much they twiddle their shocks because the shocks are junk to begin with. The beauty of the QS3's is that they actually work. The cheap junk that all mfgrs use on most sleds don't do much more than limit the travel of the suspension. The Sidewinder is heavy. When I get it I will set it to the firmest setting and never touch it again.

Yeah, my 8 year old has a 120 he can ride when we are in Wisconsin (family friend's) but I think by next winter it will be getting too small for him. Would really like to find a Phazer but I think that will be too much power.

I doubt my Walker Evans are junk gimmick shocks just because the limited 3 click shocks give you 12 less choices....LOL...I think a 5 click quality shock would be a great compromise.
