I sense envy. It was Skidoo who got money. Did not hear that Polaris did to. please enlighten us with some facts. Inquiring minds want to know.

no envy like I said glad to see a local corp get the job I have buds who supply parts for poo ATV and when my friends make money that makes me happy.I am sure once those pesky Icelandic extremists step out of line cat will get the contract

Polaris Release date for 2011?

This thread is becoming rather random. Polaris' military contract is for ATV/Ranger products. They are diversified....have a partnership with Bobcat (skidsteer) and do much more business with the ATV, motorcycles than the sleds. They started with the sleds and due to that "heritage" are supposed to be focusing on making the sleds with a greater emphasis on quality. Not sure what all that means but I hope that a better product results from the effort. Bombardier recreational products is no longer the global giant that we think of when we hear Bombardier. The rec division was sold off and is run separately from the rest, hence the BRP logo on your REV vs the Bombardier logo on my '00 Grand Touring. Enough on the dynamics of the parent companies of these sled manufacturers....WHEN WILL I KNOW IF THE NEW SWITCHBACK WILL GET UPGRADED TO THE PRO-R (XP-LIKE) CHASSIS FOR 2011!!

Good Night from the shores of Bear Trap Lake........almost journal like, eh?

I'm pretty sure it is. The picture below was from early this winter. That sure looks like a Switchback in the Pro-R chassis to me!

I have an 09 800 Polaris and it's great. It's hit or miss and if you work w/ your dealer, they'll get it right. The brand bashing on here is ridiculous. They have some motor issues and everyone is all over the place how they'd never buy one. Skidoo or Cat or Yamaha have never had any issues? Interesting. They are machines. Sometimes they're great, sometimes not so much. Ride what you like. My point is- Don't believe everything you read. Yammies (at least to those on this site who ride them) are supposed to be indestructible... well I saw a guy's chain case disintegrate on a one year old apex. The 900 fusions were supposed to be the world's worst sled, and I have a friend who has over 5K miles on it and not one issue and it rides great and is ridicuously fast. Geez, if someone likes something that's not your brand, who the heck cares?
Back to the original question- I think indy said it's March 9th. Right around the corner. Interested to see what they come out with. I just got a new one, so I'm not looking. But my husband has the itch after riding my (horrible, useless, piece of junk =) dragon and is tired of me beating him across the lake.

Pete,

I wish they weren't so much later than everyone else, I'm getting anxious! Ideally I would like the new Rush chassis and rear suspension with a 4 stroke and all of the comforts of a Classic, or LX they call it now. I don't think a 4 stroke will fit in the Rush and from what little I've been hearing about the 2011's, no new 4 stroke this year, that's coming next year. Who knows for sure. Otherwise a 600 Rush would be nice but with a better Classic/LX package than they offered last year. I like big windshields, mirrors etc.

X2. Really wish Poo would spruce up 4s with Rush 136" delux package with a liberty 4s engine. That would be a top seller! They are spending lots of R&D money trying to keep up with doo 2s etek engines & so far not doing real well with injected 800. I would rather see the $ spent on 4s.

A friend has a rush and I rode it on one of my trips this year. The ride was good. I honestly didn't think it was much better than the IQ chassis. BUT- I've heard it makes a difference in the setup and that it should be setup by your specific weight (and that 5 lbs one way or the other makes a difference). The only other complaint I had w/ the rush is that it was VERY COLD. When the owner switched onto my dragon (and I have basically no windshield so people think mine is a cold ride) he said it was like stepping indoors it was so much warmer. After riding his, I agreed. The wind goes right around it and your pants are flapping in the wind. Not to mention there's pretty much no windshield so your upper body isn't protected either. For a leisure ride, it would be ok. If you get any speed, it's windy and cold. The rail road grade in MI was FREEZING. Not to mention zipping across a lake. Just my opinion though. Cool sled, drove great. Steered well. Suspension good, not overly impressed. Like I said, good, but didn't think it was a whole new level compared to standard IQ. Will be interesting to see the tweaks they make for 2011.
