Sounds like they'll be a few folks on the trails in the Kee this weekend. I called and booked a room for tomorrow thru the weekend at the White House Motel in Mohawk and was told we got the last room for this weekend. I'll agree with some other guys who've already posted that March is the best riding in the Kee. Longer daylight hours, warmer temps and less traffic all make for great riding. It's great to hear that there's been some recent snow to improve the already great trails. I'm stoked to trailer up tomorrow and hit the trails.

if talking iron river mi some of the best up trails in iron county,mi. Groomed trails can be very tight & twisty also some corridor grades, endless unplowed forest roads. Friendly small towns some areas super remote so know your gas range. 1 of my fav areas but i'm getting old & probably should not ride there alone too much any longer not much traffic in january i would think little to no traffic in march.:)

shhhh !!!!

lol...........

Trying to Get Back up There!

Trying to talk my husband into going back to Northern WI next week/end. He has been up (sometimes with me and sometimes with the boyz) for like 5 weekends straight. I think we have burned a path up 51! :) My problem is I have to be home Sunday 3/24, so we'd have to do a quick trip and I think he is running out of vacation days! If we don't make it back up there, enjoy those perfect trails!!!!

There is three feet in northern Minnesota!! No need to buy an expensive Michigan trail permit when conditions are great yet here!:D

Your buddies sound like they should be buddies with my buddies.

I laughed out loud at this. I think I have some buddies that could join both groups of your buddies (although they would probably cancel).

I was supposed to head up 3-14-13 in the am for the only UP trip this year but my father in law was killed in an accident this past weekend sooooo.... maybe next year
Be careful cutting firewood, "widow makers" are called that for a reason...

Yes there is 3 feet, found a lot of it! Already have the MI stickers and just want to go hang with some friends in the UP! (And my girls like Lori a lot!) Krupps strudels too! It's the best thing about it right now...you can have a blast ANYWHERE! Which helps spread out the traffic a bit. :)

Heck, I'd almost consider it a minor accomplishment if they were even to the point where they could cancel......I can't get them to say they'll even think about going.

I don't know about the rest of them but I was out riding........and the rain/slush/sleet certainly didn't do us any favors in the central U.P.......trails were absolutely like concrete......relatively smooth but hard as all get out......

Right place, wrong time.....

I don't have studs on my machines or I probably would be finding a way. Not worth it to me. Even off trail is probably concrete. That's no fun IMO.

This past week-end was firm, not concrete, and since then, cooler temps, lots of fresh on top. Best riding of the season is upon us & even better is just around the corner with the next visit from Uncle Les & Co.

Sorry about your family member.

I've told my wife 3 times now this is the last trip, snows gonna melt and this is my last chance to ride. " Do you really want to hear me complain for the next 10 months about not riding the last weekend".....

She ain't buyin it anymore. 1500 miles on sled and 2500 on SUV chasing snow.

To everyone from Edgerton to Watertown, Three Lakes to Watersmeet, Tomahawk to wherever I was when I realized I was lost, Gaylord to the bridge, and Niles to South Haven, and Shawano to Iron River. Thanks for a great year that didn't look like it was going to be so great at the get go.

Clubs were awesome and snowmobilers are awesome people. See ya next year.

Heading to the Nicolet National Forest (Eastern half) tomorrow for a day ride, can't wait. Rode last Friday in Oconto and Southern Marinette Counties and it was awesome, and have been loving the condition reports I have been seeing since this weekend's weather.

What is your riding style?

Trail rider, the twistier the better, aggressive but in control (I'm the one you want to meet in a blind turn if you had to meet anyone). My trail turbo is set up for the twisties, including a lowering kit. Not crazy about grades or fields and even though that sled will do 120, usually cruise the grades about 75. (anyone can ride a grade fast beyond their abilities) I only stop to tinkle, eat, get gas, take pictures or help a fellow sledder in trouble. No drinking alcohol during the day and maybe 1 or 2 in the evening in the room. No bars. I don't spend 300plus in Diesel to go to the bars, can do that by the house. I feel I need to put more miles on the sled than the truck. I like to sleep in to about 6 am and ride until dark or little later.

^now I see why the wife is done for the year^ lol
