Yes, About 4 years ago on the Elroy Sparta bile trail. Was issued two tickets in one shot. 1. Not stopping at a stop sign at a street in Elroy by Jims Trailside Gallery (Which I will go to my grave knowing I did in fact stop) 2. Trespassing on private property which was Jims Trailside Gallery
My group came to the stop sign and proceeded to go and ended up going down a path that was not a trail. I came to the stop sign and stopped, I proceeded past when I realized I had to turn around. I used Jims Trailside gallery parking lot to turn around and did so respectfully.
Met my group at the next stop sign on the bike trail and saw the truck with the sleds.
They claim they were up the street and saw the entire thing. Asked me for my info asked me why I did not stop I said I did, they said I didn't. Then asked me if my machine had studs I said Yes, why? Well you were trespassing on private property any you destroyed his asphalt. What? Sir, yes my machine is studded why would I destroy my machine by lighting up the track on bare asphalt and why would I want to destroy his lot?
20 min and 2 tickets later we were on our way. I had to call Jims Trailside Gallery and speak to Jim and explain what happened, he was kind enough to draft a letter absolving me of any wrong doing and that there was infact no damage. I hired a lawyer to go to court for me and in the end had to pay the no stop ticket but the trespassing got tossed.
I'd just like to say Thanks to a certain officer for making my day TWICE!
Other than that have been stopped and checked but no problems since. Once 5 times in one day!
