Who have you met on JD

I thought about this while reading the thread "how this winter is shaping up". I would like to hear all the relationships that have started as a result of visiting this site.

I have ridden with a couple guys that found me on this site due to my location (Florence, WI area) and they contacted me to ride with them. I did and had a great time. I also met Whitedust and Venturenorth. Me, my wife and my son ride with them every year and continue to stay in contact each and every year. We are just now starting the annual planning for our rides this upcoming winter. When its early, cold but no snow on the ground it's all we can do. Riding alone is ok if you don't have a choice, but I personally love to ride with others not only because it's safer, but you can develop lasting relationships with people who love to do the same thing as you...enjoy the winter and RIDE!

I hope this brings out some great stories that probably most of us didn't know.

I meet Tommy Tinker! Didn't like him much because he just kept saying "somebody crapped in my snowmobile suit".

Not cool man!

Yes IL is base camp for me but my true love is up on the north woods where I am right now typing this. Where are you in Illinois?

Whitedust also introduced me to Kip last year at his shop at the same time as lenny...but who hasn't. At least I wasn't in need or repairs...

I've met and rode with POLARISDAN, groomerdriver, snolover, harski600, Vladimir (not a JD member but met him through groomerdriver)
Met but not rode with Lenny, and Kip last year when I went up to do trail work with superior snowmobile club. Met Sandra and Richard Krupp, stayed at Krupps Resort that weekend.
Hope I didn't miss anyone.
Hoping to ride with everyone more. PD in the yoop out of Mass, maybe the second week of Jan. (Weather dependant)
and hopefully others this season and seasons to come.
I've got a good deal of free time in winter, my problem is mot being able to plan in advance. I have to be available for snow removal anytime we get a weather system here.
So if anyone looking for a lets leave and go ? PM me always up for a ride.

that 2nd week works perfect..durphee and my kid will be gone//let me know..

Good positive post Darren!...Let' see if I can remember all: Chad,Kip,Pat,Todd,Dave,Lenny & wife,Mr & Mrs Runningbear,dfattack & family,venturenorth & family,jimandros,ndrev,slimcake and many others. As you said PMs came to me also... I worked out riding details with people on this site we rode had some great times and I continue to ride with everyone I can. I used to ride alone after buddies transitioned out & always looking for hook ups .... I have developed a special relationship with venturenorth well worth the time investment from his 2000 triple triple venture to his 2011 Apex SE...lol.. To any JD member post on Ride Board or just PM another member and develope relationships...lots of fun people & riding buddies on this board! :)

Between the Ride-ins, work sessions, guest bartenting, trade shows and bump-in-to's at local establishments, I would have to conservatively say around 500 great folks!

I have also made some great riding friends and friends that I have yet to ride with, but hope to someday.

The most important is, hands down, my wife!

PolarisDan, Dan's son, Ezra, Ezra's buddy Joe, Bonnevier, Kip (in passing), rp7x, SMS and a few others I don't know screen names. Had a great time riding with each and every one. There may be some "attitudes" on the site, but when it comes time to ride, it all works itself out. We all have a common goal. We all spend A LOT of money on the sport and when the VERY SMALL window of opportunity opens, we rely on sites like these to find others wanting to get out. Sites like this make it possible. HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!!

Has anybody tried doing a JohnDee weekend ride somewhere? It would be great to join up with local enthusiasts on this site. I personally live in the Twin Cities and don't have enough friends to ride with, so building some additional connections is something I would love to do. If anybody from MN is interested in trying to plan a weekend this year we should start a new thread to plan something (or more than one if the snow allows).

I understand this request seems more fitting for the ride board, but felt it to be fitting on this thread.

I have forgot more than I can list... The man himself - John Dee. Polarisdan - we meet several years back in a bar in Grand Marais(MI), RPX7 - high school 41 yrs ago, Helhuf - 7 yrs ago and we still ride every year :p
