the #1 reason cat rules the reliable 800 market is they have yet to comply with the gov looking out for your best interest .
I hope there 600 epa design works out if so it will be a win win for every one.
snomobiles are not built to run on a tea spoon of oil a day.
I think if u run a epa approved 2s and are not adding oil to every tank of gas u are a fool who will soon be seperated with his money.

1.85 a mi to run a sled not bad I always thought it was closer to 10 bucks on a good weekend

Who gives a rats tail what the title says. It has a relevance and that's what matters, regardless if someone disagrees. Here is how it is relevant. Byrn71 just bought one, boondocker82 has a 800 dragon. I have ridden with both these guys extensively last season. I have come to understand Poo makes some great stuff BUT the 800 is under scrutiny. I'd love to snow check a Poo but cautious because of the reputation of the 800. Are there rules that say a thread cannot deviate from it's title in any way shape or form if there is some relevance I think not! So with all due respect, find a way to deal with it as we all do and have done since the inception of this great site!

I can deal with it it just fine.lol I'm neutral to Poo sleds BUT if asked I agree & would not touch the Poo 800 with a 391/2 pole as I'm informed regarding Poo 800s. The 600 is better but mspease has had his problems with his Adventure 600 this year so all in all salt in his wounds I would think & the thread was about Spring deals so just trying to come back to the topic as more interested in what was purchased than old news about Poo 800 engine problems. Bash away at the Poo 800 I could care less but hope we can get back on topic so we can see what was purchased this Spring.:)

We know ezra has Poo envy. The 800 issues are yesterdays news same as over weight Yamahas. Current 800 Polaris motors are doing just fine, this includes 2011 to current. I love mine and would buy again in a heartbeat.

I can vouch, first hand, that the 800 HAD issues. My 2009 burned down at 4,000 miles with a new CPU which had the latest programming. No experience with the newer ones but, they seem to have it worked out.
I wouldn't hestitate to buy a new 800. Just not in the budget right now.

1 word WISECOS. Yes the 800s need some more cylinder support down low but the stock 800 pistons Poo are putting in these sleds are way out of tolerance. I wouldn't hesitate to buy an 11-newer 800 rebuild with Wisecos and TURN THAT OIL PUMP UP. These sleds are monsters I got a chance to ride a 600 Pro, can't get any more lighter/flickable than that! Either way I snowchecked a 2" paddle track last night LOL Mod time starts, doing a few small things to my IQ can't wait to start heading back up to da yoop next winter!

Boondocker82 says the same exact thing and he did buy the "fix kit", seems to have worked for the time being. If I had confidence, and it is growing, a pro will be my next sled.

At the same time I see i can buy a leftover 2010 M8 for 7299 and that's a great sled, motor rocks!

The real key is to reinforce the bottom crank case half on the 800 liberty so when the skirt drops, the crank lobes cant push it out the bottom. If you make it strong enough, hopefully the crank just grinds the cylinder skirt into small pieces, and sends them out the exhaust.... at least that's what I would do.

121x2 cheapest alternative w/o rail & tunnel extensions i still enjoy playing around on a shorty... Most likely I'll upgrade again next year thinking a 2012-newer 600 rmk 144 or maybe an 800 SBA would do the trick. We'll see, I still loved the last couple weeks offtrailing with my IQ it was a different world from my edge, even though it still was a 121!!!

The Poo 800s are pretty much corrected?????????????? Where in the **** have you been Polarisrider and Dave B????? If they have it corrected why the **** were they out of parts(pistons mainly) the first week of March? Just in my group we had 4 800 motors go down and 2 of them were on a 70 year old rider friend of mine. And also sleds were bought from 3 different dealers.

I can't speak from experience on the "new" ones but, my 2009 ran like a raped ape then...
Can't answer your question other than speaking to those I know who have them and their opinion after actually using them.

Don't know what year your 70 year old friend was riding but, I haven't heard anything like we did back when mine was known as a time bomb.

Not disputing your claim but, you should expound upon the model years and mileage of the four sleds you are speaking of that went down.

LOL
but that is crazy talk .from what I understand if u get the 8k rev limiter option no silver dollar size chunks of skirt will bust off.
so your carbon fiber and cast iron reinforced lower end and cryogenically treated crank are just unneeded.

Dave B. and I were out riding! I run amsoil and do preventive maintence. I never, ever had an 800 blow up on me. My 755 never blew up, Most my sleds get 3000-4000 mile on them per year. But I never owned a 07-10 800 either. I have never ever got to cash in on any extended warranties on any Polaris sleds I own or have owned. No problems and I would buy again. my sleds come from either Nelsons Speed Shop Greenville or Peacock LTD. in Baldwin. Maybe they take special care of setting up my sleds for me. not sure.

if u like to play in the pow do not do the SBA. I dont care what any one says it is a pile in the pow way to much work ,the the rmk is a great carver but the assault blows. if u plan on new arms then go for the sba but why buy a ride and have to put new arms on before u bust the stockers.
the SBA is nothing but a trail sled.
I was shocked at how much work it was. even after a few trail side suspension change ups still a worthless carver. but I know of a guy selling a 12 800 SBA with I think 1400mi on it if u want one a nice trail sled.
I would rather spend the day on my last yrs IQ rmk with that fancy poo flex chasi action than a pro SBA in the deep
