Very hard to get to (under injectors), many are too scared to turn it wrong way, etc. If you can't figure out why a 600 Poo went down, more than likely it was low oil consumption. My sled used a pretty low amount of oil its whole life, just crossing my fingers it isn't too late (3k miles). Poo 800s have a few other problems of their own but turning up the oil pump is a great start. No downsides, just gotta add more oil. Engines these days aren't made with any special metals or special bearings that need less oil versus 5 years ago. This is what OEMs have turned to in order to pass EPA compliancy. Cat 800 isn't EPA compliant but the rest of their lineup makes up for it (EPA requires the full line up to be a certain amount of pollutant free, im not so familiar with all the details on it but each individual sled doesn't have to be EPA compliant). Polaris continues to want to go all 2 stroke. A 2 stroke CVT clutched machine running 8k rpms using a track to push skis and 500 lbs of sled plus another 200 lbs of rider doing 100 mph down a trail or blasting through a few feet of powder will never be efficient. The EPA won't ever get it...
