Wow, that seems early, but it looks like everything will be early this year. We had a very mild 2 month winter this year, and that may be stretching it. I'm seeing green grass already up here!

Mosquitoes too. We were working on a grass fire in a marsh today and there were already mosquitoes......could be ugly this spring.

I hate ticks too! Not to hijack your thread, but another thing I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy (maybe Obama) ;) is kidney stones, which I had last summer. I hope to never have lymes and I hope you never have kidney stones! :)

ezra,

You crack me up man! Funny story. Worse pain I've ever experienced. Women that have had them say it's worse than child birth. Thank God for pain meds!

Went for a bicycle ride Sunday bugs were awful by the water saw some snakes and the turtles were out. Already had to remove a birds nest above my front door. Parents said they saw a dead baby bird on a walk sounds like a really messed up spring.

For a minute there I thought you meant he passed a wood tick!

When I was doing my paramedic clinicals a guy came into the ER with them. As I was starting an IV on him I explained that I was a student and might not have the technique down to a science yet, so it might hurt a bit. He told me nothing I did to him could be worse than the pain from that stone, so it must have been pretty bad! I have heard it said that it's the worst pain known to humankind. Thankfully, I've yet to find out on my own and don't really care to.

Started the kids on Frontline today. Heartworm check April 1st. Probably start those pills sooner this year. Also Lyme shots too and all the other vaccinations that are due.
This is probably the only thing I hate about spring. $$$$$$$$

Even the old boys can't remember a winter/spring like this. Skies black with geese the last week. Rivers breaking up middle of March. Unheard of this far north. Many concerned about grass and forest fires with the minimal snow we had. Opening fishing still two months away. Wild, Twolves, Twins and Vikings all suck. At least I don't have kidney stones.

Only 1 thing "bugs" me worse than wood ticks,,,,,,,,, DEER Ticks! (Wayyyyy to small to see/feel)

A few winters/springs ago my neighbor kicked over a rotting stump and there was a large ball of ticks and they were moving slowly,,,,,there was snow on the ground and it was about 30 degrees,,,,,it was nothing a can of spray paint and a lighter couldn't take care of.
