wrangler life expectancy

so this ford I bought came with g Y wranglers
well 7mo old truck has less than 15k on it. 2 tires have less than 1/16 to tread wear bar other 2 about 1/8.
looks like allot of cracking between lugs.
and no I have never done a burnout in it and the traction control wont let them spin on ice.
dealer says I must be hauling lots of weight.
but I have hauled no more than any other truck I have owned a sled from time to time tools prob average 300lb a day.
what are u getting out of your wranglers?
my war dept has them on her mountianeer and they look great with 30k on them but they are 4 yr old wranglers did they change?

I can get about 3-5 years out of my Wranglers (Wrangler Jeans).

I have 228k miles on my 2004 crew cab and I'm ready to change tires soon for only the 3rd time. I got almost 80k out of my original set, about 80k on the second set and now I'm approaching 70k on the 3rd set. Something doesn't seem right, even cheap tires should wear better than that.

Agree, something doesn't seem right. I'm not a big Wrangler fan but they came on my 2011 GMC (yes, GMC). I have about 36,000 on the Wranglers (AT/S) and they still look like new. Like mspease, I don't recall ever getting less than 70K out a set of tires. I don't haul a lot but I haul more than would be expected for a guy that wears salmon shirts to work.

that is what I am saying I get 50k on my tires.
they just say wrangler
my wife's say wrangler rts or something like that.
thinking ford ordered some cheep spec tires or something.
thought they would have learned there lesson on that one after the explorer situation.
I am going to talk with my usual tire Guy this week to get his take on them.
the truck should be going in this mo for its 15k service and there will be some talks going on then. prob quickly escalating to heated talks then daily visits.
I will not be spending $1200 on tread on a truck less than a yr old

I got 12 years and ~74k miles on half of wranglers on my truck and only the one really needs replacement, but I think that's because of a slight alignment issue.

The other 2 tires have 7 years and ~40k miles and still look pretty damn new.


Course I don't drive the truck that much (thanks gas prices), mainly winter weather driving, hauling the sled, an occasional lunch.

I have noticed some OEM wear out quick and have no mileage warranty.
But buy that tire it'll have a big warranty and a couple extra letters after the name.

I had a similar issue with my 2006 Explorer. The tires wore out after about 20k. The shop I go to said some OEM's spec tires that are cheap or even seconds to save a few bucks. Ford wouldn't do anything for me.

got that right! I got 10k miles out of my cooper discoverer ATRs and sold them with 4&5/32 tread left to a buddy for $125 I made myself buy Mud terrains so I would never do another burnout. Well they were $1200 but they will last longer than any all terrain I would've bought LOL

Minnesota roads, cheap spec tires, fords love to eat tires on the front. Have you noticed that every d*# bridge in minnesota is about 6 inches higher than the road bed.

How do you know that the Poo riding tire rotator guy just didn't switch your tires out with his worn out Wranglers??? hummm? I would check to make sure the motor is the actual one you purchased with the truck ?????? Never know who you pissed off at the dealership. (just a thought). lol
