Sorry never saw muskies response to this. Don't have it sitting in front of me but it is JUST my sled no trailer (some american family policies include trailer) $500 collision $500 comprehensive and $50k medical my rep is Dan gassner out of hortonville. I'm insuring just the sled. No one so far can touch what I pay for my truck even though I think it's steep!

My former Insurance Company State Farm quoted me $220/year for full coverage on a 2015 Polaris Axys 800.

I have since switched to Allstate for homeowners and three vehicles.

Here's their quote for the entire fleet:

Three 2015 Polaris Axys 800's
One 2013 Polaris Rush Pro-R 800
One 2012 Polaris Rush Pro-R 800
One Triton Enclosed Trailer
One Floe '24 Enclosed Trailer Total for the year $698.55 ( all with full coverage)

Is that QTY 3 Axys 800's nothing like 45K in sleds, in one year, on top of first year production 800 polaris engines
total 5 sleds and two trailes

We have Liberty Mutual and our two new Viper LTX DX's came in at $394 a year for the pair. Pretty good I thought, then I remembered, we're old farts now! Times have sure changed!!

$50k medical? How much does that coverage cost? Maybe I'm wrong but that seems like quite a bit of coverage unless you don't have health ins. thru your employer?

Care to elaborate on "full coverage" coverages? What kind of liability limits, under and uninsured coverage, deductibles?

For Hybrid's comments about Progressive not paying I'd have to disagree-my nephew totaled his Harley and Progressive took care of the claim right away and very fair I might add.

Also for those with Progressive Ins. on sleds & bikes, they do allow you to drop coverages for the off-season.

Same thing I was thinking. Doesn't take long to rack up 50k now days but your medical insurance will cover you. Of course if you have a high deductible and co-pay on your medical plan you may be better off carrying the medical coverage on the sled if it didn't cost much.

My broker told me that they didn't allow her to do that, even when I called Progressive, the operator said I had to keep coverage year round.

If I've been getting duped, I am going to be very upset!

I do this multiple times a year with progressive - add the coverage when I go on a trip, take it off on the way home. You can't take off all the coverages - but collision, which I think is the most expensive, can come off.

I'm not sure how this is a question when it comes to sled insurance? $50k worth of medical liability. I hit someone they go to hospital they get bills, yadayadayada?

I'm not the insurance guy here, but typically "medical coverage" is just for you. If you have 50k liability that's a whole different thing, and you'd be right about needing that, in fact that would be a bear minimum level you'd ever want. Most of the time you'll see 100/300K liability or more, 500 deductibles, and 5k or 10k medical. Do you have a 25/50k liability, 500 deductible and then some medical? That would make sense for what you're paying. As you get older and have more things someone could take away from you in a lawsuit you want to get that liability up higher.

You may have to keep some minimum coverage but Progressive does allow you to do a winter lay-up for cycles and summer lay-up for sleds. They've only provided this for a few years and it's up to you to call them to drop it and then to add back the coverages when you use the vehicle-not automatic.

I'm not positive (as I'm not an ins. person) but liability coverages should take care of other people?

$250,000/$500,00 Liability $500.00 Deductible

Thanks! Good rates!

On my 900Ace policy, I have 250/500/100k liability. 100/300k Under AND uninsured, $250 deduct. for $215/year

Am I getting screwed?

I have progressive. I pay $489 a year (I do drop coverage in March.. but this is the yearly premium). This is what I pay:

Liability to others - $62
Uninsured Motorist - $104
Underinsured Motorist - $57
Medical Payments ($10k each person) - $118
Comprehensive $750 deductible - $26
Collision $750 deductible - $122

For a total of $489 a year. Is this HIGH or is it just me? 2014 MXZ 600 Sport. Clean record.

Here she is.

I've never seen Liability coverage with the same limit for each person/each accident as you show, good to see good coverage though, just in case.

High? Not sure as you didn't share what amounts of liability and uninsured/underinsured coverage Progressive is providing at those costs.

What is your net cost after dropping coverage (except Comprehensive) for the off-season?
