Im sure this has been repeated constantly here but what is with people running down the middle of the trail when passing?! I cant even count the number of sleds I've passed over the last 4 weekends (and 3 more booked) running down either the wrong side or nearly down the middle! SLOW DOWN AND MOVE OVER TO THE RIGHT OR STAY HOME! I even had 1 sled pass me last weekend down the middle and give me the one finger salute, my ski was right up agains the edge pal!

Ok, end rant!

I agree there are a good # of fools out there that need some schooling on safety and such, but boy........., there is a lot of negative posts on here these days pointed at others. Maybe I'm exagerating a bit, but just seems that way.

Sorry for sidetracking. Hope your next 3 trips go better, and have some fun.

I agree with you SnoX have never seen so many people that totally forgot the rules or think they are the only people on the trail. Never have I been so nervous about taking the family riding as I am this year with the way so many people are riding. Wife and I may hang it up this year due to to many close calls. Love the sport but it is not worth getting hurt in the middle of no where on account of others stupidity.

I agree with SnoX,

Here comes several sleds at us as my wife and I are coming out of a turn. A**hole hogging the wrong side at to fast of a speed approaching the corner. Locks up the brakes and slides sideways into the corner. I'd like to clothes line the bastards. End of rant.

Geez..... learn something everyday here on JD I thought you were suppose to follow the snirt line down the center of the trail. Awful lot of riders doing it or would not have snirt line to follow. Everything is so white in bright sun I need that snirt line to stay centered. I'm trying real hard but seem to go wide in every turn my big old Yamaha just goes so darn fast just squeeze that gas thingy on the right side of handle bars it really takes off like a jet airplane. I just think the DNR or these clubs everybody talks about should make all these trails much wider then we can ride 2 & 3 abreast boy don't you think that would be fun plenty of room for everybody make it much easier to ride real fast & have much bigger snirt line down the center of the trail. Is this a good idea or did I miss something?

Thanks rocketman thought maybe I was doing something wrong following that snirt line down the center. Don't you think DNR or these Clubs that brush & groom should cut all the trees way back that way would be much safer make it much easier to ride real fast & maybe take some of those difficult turns everbody complains about & make them straight then we could ride like the wind. I pay so much money for trail permits & registration I think I should be able to have very wide safe trails. All these clubs should get out & do some work for a change riding in a cushy groomer listening to their fav tunes in a heated cab what a racket.

Well, if you want to be known as Skid Mark, that's okay by me but I won't want to be known as Skid Mark. :)

it is best to stay off the trails as much as poss. I feel way more safe driving 30 or so through thick oaks rubbing spindles between trees than on a trail any day

I see that You have been making comments like this on most posts where someone is "stating a fact" or
"venting" a bit. Really, if you are so sick of reading about this stuff,.... then DON'T READ IT!
Maybe YOU and YOUR FAMILY should have a life-changing event or near death experience on the trails,....
and you might change your tune.
I just HAD to jump in here folks. But what We really don't need are more,..."pot-stirrers"
Snowmobiling is everything to me and my family,..... and the last thing I or a lot of my friends that visit this
fine site need is someone telling them to quit whining about a real-life experience they would like to share.

How can we fix the things we seem to complain about that we experience out there on the trails?
I don't know if we can.
Maybe it will have to take multiple head on corner collisions? ect.,....
Wether ya want to admit it or not,.... the sleds are made for power and comfort today.
In the "old" days,... a 440 was the BIG DOG! anything bigger was considered Wow! a "racing machine"
Last week, a buddy an me put on some nice mileage locally. In (2) instances when we stopped,... (once for
gas,... the other for a scenic overlook stop),... 2 seperate groups of riders (4 or 5 in group) were overheard
saying things like,.... "Hey, if Billy can't keep it over 60,...next time he stays home",......and another was
"Holy crap!,... when I was flying around the corner,... I almost tagged that dude!",.... (laughing about it).
Well,... when I heard that,... I turned around and looked at the "kid" and asked: REALLY? and then gave him
a piece of my mind. He,... of course didn't want to HEAR it,.... and was like,..."whatever dude".
I think it comes down to how one is "trained" and brought up riding,... and how to properly follow "good examples".

Not trying to pick battles,... but in all reality,.... do we really need all those studs on our tracks,...
so we can "hook up" coming into and or out of corners at High Speeds?
Maybe that feeling of Whoaaaa! was that corner slippery! Maybe I should ease off the throttle a bit,....
be more of a common thing,..... (a reminder so to say)
I caught up with a group taking a smoke break at an intersection after witnessing a couple of them just
TRASH a section of trail by selectively "pinning it" with fully picked tracks. I let THEM know how I felt also,....
and they were like,...."geez dude,.... chill out"
I could tell ya a lot more REAL instances,..... but I think you get where I'm coming from.

So as long as people like Snox128 want to share something that concerns them,....
I'll read about it,... and to myself,....reflect on my same past similar experiences.
And to ME,.... this is the perfect SUPPORT GROUP to vent with.

I have met MANY friends on HERE that I will stand up for in Any battle!
So if ya don't want to hear about it,..... Well,........
I hope I don't "Run In To You" on the Wrong side of the trail!
as a 380 lb 6'5" corrections officer,..... I think I can hold my own.

Now,....
My appologies for my "comment venting",.....
but as long as they make standard sleds that are as comfortable as your easy chair,....
and go 100+ right out of the crate,..... and are put in the "arms of the uncontrollables",....
Will we Ever see a change?

Think LOTS of snow out there friends,.....
Enjoy every minute you get with Your family and friends out there sledding,.....
and BE SAFE,....
So You can enjoy Next season also!

Next,..............
