I have ridden Polaris for over twelve years now and will be the first to say that I hope they have some new engines coming out soon. I would also like to add that I think it is funny how quick some jump to the conclusion that they are headed out of the game. I guess one could also assume that since two key manufacturers joined forces they are all but admitting that one cant make a decent engine and the other a decent suspension. The bottom line is the manufacturers do what they do to try to survive and gain market share, some times it makes sense to the consumer and some times it doesnt. If they were all they same that would be pretty boring. Its like trucks, everyone has their brand loyalty and it doesnt make anyone wrong or right. Enjoy what you ride and lets see what the future brings. As I told my wife, in a couple years we may be riding a doo you just never know.

Saying you want Polaris to make new engines is a very vague blanket statement. I've been a long time polaris guy running both the 800 and 600 recently and don't see the problem with them. The only thing I wish Polaris would catch up on Ski doo with is the fuel consumption.

What is it that you want?

Yes, I should have been more specific better fuel economy is what I was referring to and would be great. I have a 2011 Rush ProR and have had zero issues with the sled, so I am glad to see they got their 800 reliablity issues taken care of. I do agree with an earlier comment that a first year new engine or chasis by any manufacturer is rolling the dice as you may be the one getting the bugs worked out.

cross country
grass drags
660 ice
1000 ice

no really! One company trying to survive and another looking to sell motors. AC has no real money coming In from anything else. Yami makes very good motors to fit the EPA requirements along with a full line of other great products. Yami wins.

Not to mention the company has ZERO long term debt, which normally is what takes down a company if it's going to happen.

cat has been designing there own motors and having Suzuki build them for yrs and yrs.
they have a great engineering dept when it comes to engine development
the new market untested 600 looks like a real winner on paper http://www.arcticinsider.com/Article/Tech-Insight-Inside-the-new-Arctic-Cat-600-C-TEC2-Engine
I dont think cat has plans on going any place. and they will be building that yammi motor in st cloud next yr.along with all ATV and clean 2s engine.
they would not have spent the money if they saw the end was near.
from the few people I know who live around me who work for poo they deff dont expect the gravy train of fed money to last.
speaking of a Mercedes in amc. hear any thing about the Mercedes v6 diesels in to the 1/2 ton fiat Ram testing. that should be a huge hit
