rush offerings cut in half....could this be the end of the rush all together?
x2, i like polaris alot but i would never buy one. You dont see as many on the trails compared to when it first came out.

No 4 strokes?
Yawn!! I do like some of the Snow Check colors for sure.
They still have the IQ Turbo, but no 4-stroke in new Indy chassis.
I didn't see it on there, but maybe I missed it. That cargo rack is kind of cool on the voyager. The Indy's overall are good looking sleds.
Still seems strange to me that they haven't made much of an attempt lately at the 4 stroke market. If that 600 they have holds up, perhaps it isn't that much more costly to operate than a 4 stroke when you factor in all the costs. If you can get an Indy for $6-7k, and get it to run 10,000 miles and get 14-16 mpg's and it's not too bad on oil, that's probably not too much different than buying a 4 stroke for $9k. Long term reliability is probably the big question mark.
It's a good thing that all 4 are taking a different approach.
and get it to run 10,000 miles and it's not too bad on oil
Those 2 things do not go well together. Less oil= Less lubrication. If you want to use less oil on your sled turn down your oil pump its as simple as that. It WILL blow up sooner, you can only push a 2-stroke too far and these new sleds are past the limit. The days of getting 10k out of your 2 stroke are LONG gone.
I dont think poo will stop making sleds any time soon. I know 1 vendor who just signed a 3 yr so they are planning that much
I like that so many people complain about reliability, then in their next breath complain when a manufacturer doesn't come out with a totally new chassis every other season and then follow that up with a complaint about the price of new sleds. You simply can't have your cake and eat it too.
If you want a new chassis every other year than guess what, you're going to be dealing with "first year bug's" every other year. If you want a new chassis every year you are going to be paying for new tech development, new manufacturing process', new testing, etc every other year. If you want a reliable sled with the bugs worked out than let a manufacturer work with a chassis for a few years.
Rumors from reliable sources say the DI Polaris developed was getting worse oil mileage and about the same fuel mileage as what they have now. The costs for the DI was much higher, the project was shelved. Rumors also were running around that the RZR 900 motor was going to be their competition for the ACE from Ski doo. The development cost didn’t justify the amount of sales they projected, again shelved. There are also rumors that there are Rushes running around with 4 strokes in them. Who knows if anything will come of that. I think with a shrinking snowmobile market, Polaris will be limiting R & D. Completely redesigned chassis and engines will be slow in getting to the consumer, if at all.
