I Dog sled my butt...no real racer would put up with such a puny windshield. ...
Frank....try out a new AXYS 800 if you get a chance. ...most fun you can have with a motor and 2 skis.

Good advice as I would like to but my local Green Bay dealers don't seem to do demo rides for Polaris. I do hear the 800 power is superb.

I rode the Viper last year and loved it but hate the white belly pan/frame. Since the Viper is part A/C, that turns me off immediately as my local dealer is an outlet (Kens Sports) for A/C sleds that are leftovers from previous years and depreciation is giant.

I seem to keep coming back to Ski-Doo as they have been reliable, good riding and outstanding resale. I am concerned about all the one and two year old Polaris sleds out there that have depreciated over one dollar a mile. My Ski-Doos are usually .50-.75 per mile. The low depreciation is one of my only justifications to buy two new sleds each year. For 2015 Ski-Doo even offered the 3 year warranty, none of the others did that to my knowledge.
I have to admit it, I am a value buyer as well as for the other reasons spoken earlier. One may call it "brand loyal" but I call it best value for me.

If they get me the damn sled by December 1 each year I would be happier.

Frank

Sounds like so far its a competitor to the xs on the trail. Have you heard of the capacitors blowing? I hope to be getting a chance to ride one back to back and compare side by side with my renegade. Looks like yellowknife got rid of his viper and went back to doo. See how that holds up with the axys in the frigid northwest territories. The viper couldnt hack it.

The Viper cold start issue was fixed with a reflash.

I don't know who yellowknife is but I was told the vipers had a cold start issue last year that was fixed. I don't care much about one brand or the other. Sounds like you keep track of all them.

Just a guy that shoots and edits videos of riding in yellowknife canada. I think they are good and helpful. Currently they have a axys, skidoo back country along with his nytro. but the last year has been about his viper. cold starting was the beginning of the issues. It went thru a ton of parts from reverse motors to starters. entertaining to watch. We will see the fate of the axys and the back country.

lets hope yellowknife doesn't have even slightest of an impact with his yellow one because they hands down win the "most fragile" sled ever made. Just ask OMDave. That's what happens when you cut weight on bulk heads, bent module.

Moremilesray in Twin Lakes has a viper and was frustrated with the starting issue and it has since been resolved. So I finally asked Ray if he would recommend a viper to other and he said yes. This is from a 60 yr old guy who piles on the miles and needs reliability.

I could be just like you and shake the poms for a brand with sighting some guy and try and discredit them because of their personal experience.

I'll be you for a minute okay? "Yea, yea Nick keller just turned over 80,000 miles on his Yamaha vector. Some days he rides 500 plus miles a day. With that said, it has to be the best brand sled ever made. Gas and go, 20 mpg's, BEST BEST BEST, These yellow sleds blowing up at 7000 miles is entertaining"

We get it, you love Doo, maybe to the point to make love to it I suppose but keep in mind some of us live in the real world and can make educated decisions.

Pahaha. Looks like alot of people are making good educated descions by the empty floor space on doo dealer floors. The doo maynot make it thru yellowknifes abuse. We will see. All he said on dootalk was he has 600kms on it and loves it so far. But long ways to go. By that time the viper went thru 2 starters.Love the fragile comment!! Thats a good one!!! Ill make sure to ask the skidoo god dave guy, sounds like you worship him and his doo advice lol

You must be related to Swaggert or bennie Hinn selling your crap like you do. OMDave is a yellow guy but way different than you. He is humble and kind unlike you slinging off yellow slop like flee soap in a kennel. Dave doesn't tell the world yellow is best and the rest is junk,,,always comparing and declaring yellow is best,,,,,LIKE YOU!

Do you have any idea how pathetically stupid it is to argue that one brand is better than another yet you continue to do it post after post. Sleds are different and just that, different. Than we get to see you set you set yourself up and say "I'll get to ride them back to back" so you can again declare you ride the best. No single ride will ever determine much. taking the time to understand the dynamics and intended use of a sled is a fundamental basic which you lack understanding of,,, thus why you continually do as you do.

A viper is a sleek mid performance trail sled for the most part, depending on track length. Yellowknife screwed up considering that as a viable sled for him for the use of riding he does. I've read yellowknifes post years ago when he had a phazer mtn lite. So a guy take the wrong sled for his use, and a first year production run with 2 companies combining design) and it under performs and you declare a win for yellow and a loss for blue,,,go figure. You come up to the UP and tell and the older gentleman riding power steering, high windshields, great mpgs and ultra reliable they ought to be riding yellow and see what they say. Do you really believe you in all your knowledge knows better? This is how you come across and you have earned the tittle of "yellowman." We can get you a super hero suit with yellow and black colors with a huge "yellowman" logo.

Tell Nick Keller who has 81,000 miles on his junk Yamaha Vector he is moron, tell Mr.Freeze who sold his vector with 30,000 miles it was a poor decision to buy it. Problem is you base your opinion on your single perspective or those who agree with you and than exploit the competition when they have a problem sled. Why I get into this with you is beyond me but someone has to do it so may as well be me. I am not saying Yamaha is better than Ski-doo but I am saying they all have there place and you cannot go wrong buying what you like based on your application, get a grip dude, I'm to old for this!

Seems to me there are pom-pom wavers, or Kool-aid drinkers, or whatever you want to call them of every color, just as there are bashers of every color. Some get overlooked more than others, some get flamed more than others (individuals, not colors). Riding season and life in general are too short to worry about it.

Please pass the popcorn.

There should be a new rule on this forum. If you are going to be a cheerleader, you need to include pictures of cheerleaders.

Sad day last Wednesday...Nick's Vector went down at just a tick under 81,000 miles. Timing issue. New motor and he was back on the trails by Sunday.
