99% a sledders are VERY respectful....
this thread has 2 courses..
trespassers--major problem everywhere..sledders are now bringing enforcement out because of their actions--which will lead to trail closures and other issues
jagweeds--i also havent encountered them at establishments, but they obviously are out there..
and a 3rd issue(other threads) riders with no courtesy(passing unsafely-not slowing down for stopped riders etc)
why is it this stuff goes on year after year? why is it so difficult to follow some basic "rules" on our own? why do we need to be "enforced"?
i just dont get it![]()
I became a U P land owner last year. I have found that most folks up here will give you the shirt off their backs if they think you need it. Most businesses will treat you like they have been you friend for years, going out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay. If you think a 45 dollar trail pass gives you the rite to pee in their pool you are sadly mistaken. Their is a lot of disrespect for others this year as compared to last ten or so years I have been coming up here, not sure what the mind set of snowmobilers is coming to. I do know that attitudes need to change sooner than later. It's not an all or nothing affair. While all UP businesses that cater to visitors appreciate folks coming to the area to support their livelihood, I do not know of a single one that wants or feel even remotely indebted to the visitors that come in and are rude, disrespectful and think that without THEM, they all would go belly up. Folks do not live in the UP to become rich with money and are thus more less prone to want to deal with the person that thinks their poop does not stink. So for those of you with that attitude, PLEASE STAY HOME and play in the dirt and grass and leave the UP to those that truly appreciate it and the good folks that live here.

Click → Stoping?… Why aren't they in the woods stoping [sic] the trespassing? …
Click → Privet?… Its not very hard to know if you are on privet [sic] land. If we keep this up we will see our system closed down as much of it depends on privet [sic] land.
Accept?not much to get accept [sic] realizing they're are fools in all walks of life.
Accept [verb, transitive]: to recognize that something is true, fair, or right
Sam accepted her explanation without question.
This argument is unlikely to be accepted by the court.
accept that:
Most scientists accept that climate change is linked to pollution.
generally/widely accepted (=believed by most people):
His views on genetics are not now widely accepted.
Click → Tread? The anecdotal evidence of this tread [sic] is overwhelming.
Why go into business then, if it's about something other than "making money? That's the ONLY reason I would do it.
Please elighten me, because I would LOVE to know why someone in the UP would open up a business, besides making money. Love of people? Charitable contribution to community? Like to waste time?
Attemp? or "A temp"? (Never mind.)… Powder sleds are purpose built machines that can go where sleds 10 years ago would not attemp [sic].
… Lando [sic] owners can post signs & fence off …
For those that think that the northwood's can't live without you, go into most any northwoods business wearing a Carhartt jacket, and wait till the last group of obnoxious sledders leave and the door closes behind them. Then say something like, "They seemed nice." More often than not the reply will be something like, "Is it April yet?"....![]()
Attemp? or "A temp"? (Never mind.)
Lando? As in "Lando Lakes"?
I 'tink y'all are just sufferin' from SNOW STARVATION!![]()
