    New truck

I don't know if you could even still order one. When I picked mine up the dealer said they were unable to order anymore as Ford had cut off orders. I also know the company I work for buy's several thousand super duty cab/chassis models every year and the order window is closed for us also...

    New truck

If you are referring to the Ford 6.2 I did not have that before moving to this truck. I did see a report on the difference between the two engines though and the 7.3 reaches its max torque rating at a lot lower RPM than the 6.2. In fact the 7.3 is putting out more torque at something like 1800...

    New truck

That would be a sweet truck. I gave some thought to the tremor package but I barely get into my garage right now and taller tires would make it awfully tight. I told my wife as soon as we move, hopefully next year, the next place will need a taller garage door and then I'll throw on some 35's.

Just at the cabin. Garage plus pole shed at home. May start the garage process up there this summer.

    New truck

So my cabin is only about 80 miles from home and we have good snow here most of the time also so I enjoy a weekend spin around here also. We used to leave them up there most of the time but don’t have a garage so we just parked them behind the cabin. But then weekends got busier with kid events...

    New truck

So just got home from the cabin pulling the 4 place enclosed trailer. What a difference. There’s no sway, no wiggle. The truck is pulling the trailer, not the trailer pushing the truck. Very stable and confidence boosting. Some of you may remember a post I had a few years back where we hit some...

    New truck

So my reason is truly cost related. It would be another 8K for the diesel along with more expensive to maintain. Everything I’ve read on the 7.3 says it’s really up to the job for as much as I want to tow, 12-13000 lbs. And I just won’t put enough miles on it to justify a diesel.

    New truck

The ride is a little rough empty. My F150 rode pretty rough empty as well but this is worse!

    New truck

The color is their Carbon Gray. I usually do black trucks but I like this one.

    New truck

My F150 had the 5.0. My sled trailer is a 4 Place enclosed and we got about 10 pulling it but never ran more than 70 with it. It just pushed the truck around more than I liked.

    New truck

Been starting to plan for the end of the working life stage and go to the enjoying life stage. One of the things we want to do is camp/travel more and move up to a 5th wheel and the old 2016 F150 wasn't going to be up to the task so we went big. Its a 2023 F350 with the 7.3 gas engine. Only took...

The Season in Review with Pictures

I've always enjoyed riding in the Black Hills. Haven't done it for years but need to again.

Thats such a neat spot. So much easier to get up there during the winter than having to hike up in the summer!

The Season in Review with Pictures

A 137" would be fine, just not that suspension. Or just go buy yourself an Assault and put a 2" track on it. Then you'll be rocking! We are heading up Friday, hopefully we get some fresh snow up there!

The Season in Review with Pictures

It was a fantastic year in Northern MN. We had rideable snow from 12/15 thru now. Still planning to go this weekend and a late April ride. Throw in a trip to Utah and it was another good year with 0 mechanical issues!

How many miles did you put on this season?

I ended the year at about 1200 miles on my sled, pretty equally split between just riding from home and from the cabin. Fantastic conditions in both spots. Then there was also maybe 200 miles in Utah.

How many miles did you put on this season?

The stucks get to be a lot more work when the kids are on mtn sleds. Last year in West Yellowstone a couple of them had me worried when it was just my son and I. He feels we'll eventually dig out of anything, and he's probably right, but my tired old butt would be fine avoiding some of them.

    Pictures of National Puppy Day

This is our Bernedoodle, Bascom. He's 3 and is just the happiest, friendliest dog ever. Makes me smile everyday.
