    Glacier National Park

There was construction on Going to the Sun Road near McDonald Lake so that was a PITA. I love going over the Beartooth also. Another awesome drive!

    How was your camping season?

So I'd mentioned last fall on this thread that our old camper had gotten totaled and we were going to have to look for another. Looked at a lot of used campers, inspected them much more than we did our previous nightmare, and finally settled on this one. Just picked it up a couple of weeks ago...

    Glacier National Park

We were also there 2 years ago but took advantage of our son living in Montana and had to pay him a visit. Our daughter even flew in from NYC to meet us. Started in Bozeman, drove to Couer D' Alene for a night, then to Sandpoint ID for a night and then back to Whitefish, MT and GNP for the next...

    The Perfect Up North Property

So this is kind of the way we did it. We originally looked for a existing cabin but they were either outrageously priced or absolute junk. So we changed our plan to buy land and build. Luckily we could do most of the stuff ourselves. I had to hire out the dirt work, well and septic, taping and...

    The Perfect Up North Property

I'm struggling right now with the last part of your statement. People originally said what a great investment it will be while I said it was a horrible investment as nobody ever sells cabins, they pass them along. As we are getting close to retirement the question is being raised again. I have...

    The Perfect Up North Property

We built our place 18 yrs ago. We were always going up the north shore to camp in the summer and to sled in the winter. Luckily we could do most of the work ourselves but it was a lot of driving. Heading out every friday night with the camper hooked up and two kids under 5. My wifes job was to...

    Colorado springs

Many years ago my wife and I made a huge circle of CO on our bike. I think we hit about every major pass. We even rented a jeep in Silverton and went up thru some of the real high passes, 13000+'. First I can't believe they let any idiot who shows up just take a jeep and do that and second, if...

And I love the people that say when you're asking $1000 for something "will you take $500 cash?" No, but I'll take $800 in pebbles. What the heck do people think they are going to pay with?

    Marketplace Listing, Results

Its so hard to sort out the scammers who are misrepresenting what they are selling. My wife and I are looking for a 5th wheel so I'm watching multiple FB sites. And then I see our old camper up for sale, the one the insurance company totaled last year due to we had a storm destroy our awning one...

    Washout on Trail 3

Going to have to do an Environmental Impact Study, have at least 3 public forums to discuss the study. Then have to agree to make barriers walls on both sides of the trails so the sounds doesn't disturb the silent sports crowd along with building 50 more miles of trail for hikers/skiers in...

    One more ride

I didn't see any other sledders out. There were two trucks in the parking lot but all I saw was one hiker up on a forest road.

    Waterfall tour

I did 52 miles Saturday. Could've done a lot more but it was just me out having fun. Saw some other trucks and trailers in the lot.

    One more ride

Funny you say that. My son, who lives in Montana, called last night and he'd been riding yesterday up north of Anaconda. We talked baout how we both wished it had been may 1st over the weekend so we could say we rode in May. He said that at least he rode on April 31st and there weren't many...

    Waterfall tour

We've been up to the cabin the last two weekends and have taken advantage of the melting snow to visit some waterfalls. We've hit Gooseberry, Baptism River, Cross River, Temperance River, and the Cascade river. The water has been running good and will just get better as it warms up this week.

    One more ride

Had to run up to the cabin to do a little work on Saturday and decided I'd better bring the sled with me. It was looking a little bleak as I head up Hwy 61 up the shore but I knew there's be snow up top. Got about 50 miles in, mostly forest roads but also some of the NSST. Latest I've rode so...
